I need help. I formatted my hdd and now when I try to boot from cd it just says no opper£ating system found. It doesnt boot from the cd. Trying to install Xp. I didnt create a partition after I deleted the old ones.

n00b question, but is your CDROM device set as the 1st Boot device in your BIOS?

You need to choose boot from CD. To do that, you need to press F12 or something else when your motherboard's logo is displayed while booting.

EDIT: Or what moggie said.

both mentioned things could work...

either set ur cdrom to be ur primary booting device

or on start-up select the boot menu and then select the cdrom

i prefer the later... as if it always tries to boot from cdrom 1st, it does slow boot up time down a few secs.. if anything is in the cd rom

It boots now but when installing Xp eveything goes smovely but it stall at saving settings at 9 min remaning.

I formatted a few months ago and everything went smoothly but not this time. Any suggestions?
