Not receiving SMS from Paypal anymore.

Hi. Read the post before it was moved. Having the same issue on the Vodacom network for Paypal OTPs. Stopped receiving them from 7/12/2023. Let us know how you progress as I too have no idea how to resolve this. Regards
 
I've got the same issue. PayPal have confirmed that the message is getting generated and I need to contact the carrier (Vodacom).
 
Not sure about Paypal, but have the same issue with Google OTPs on Vodacom. Vodacom said I must speak to Google, and Google said to speak to Vodacom :cautious:
 
I got a call from some lady after speaking to her on Facebook Vodaom page. She reset my line and call barring, but still no change. She did not even know what Paypal is. So yeah. We are at their mercy untill some big chief hotshot at Vodacom tries to use Paypal and he finds it is not working. I tested again on MTN and Cell-C using family members at home telephone numbers on new Paypal accounts and the OTP's are coming in. Def a Vodacom issue.
 
I’ve now spoken to six agents at Vodacom and each have given me a different story. No one seems to be able to contact their technical team to escalate.

Still have sometimes the problem with OTPs on Vodacom that I do not receive. Fortunately my bank can send it to my email I have noticed especially on Vodacom there is sometimes a long delay on OTP's. My wife funny enough do not have that problem on her pre-paid Telkom. But then I must also say sometimes on Vodacom I do not receive calls although I have full signal and later it says a missed call.
 
Just got off the phone with Paypal. They say they are aware of the issue "at the mobile operator" (I use Vodacom). She said there are many many South Africans that are affected and they have escalated the issue. No ETA though.

Thanks for the update bud. At least we now know they took note of our problem.
 
Seems like the only solution ATM is to change to MTN for this to work. Has anyone done this?
 
There is still no solution to the Vodacom customers not receiving Paypal OTP's...

It has been nearly 2 months now
 
I too am not receiving an OTP from PayPal (also with vodacom). I can’t even turn off 2-factor authentication since I can’t log in to my account. Besides getting a new SIM with another provider, have any of you found work arounds to this problem?
 
If you are able to login to your account (I luckily had my wife's MTN number as a backup), you can change the 2-step verification from OTP to Authenticator App by going to:

- Settings
- 2-Step-Verification
- Authenticator App / Third-party code generator

Else, may have to fight with Vodacom, see Reddit link / thebossmother's comment...
