I visited the Midrand branch yesterday, after receiving their latest "Clearance Sale Special" email ((here).

First, the security lady in the shop insisted twice that I fill in a form, which the friendly gent at the door then said wasn't necessary since I have a valid account number.

I enquired about Samsung 1Tb HDD's which are listed on the shop.esquire.co.za website at R409 excl. The cashier indicated that they're R469 excl. So I took Seagates. This morning a new special is mailed out, with the Samsung models now selling for R399! And the website STILL indicates them at R409! Why all this confusion???

Do what I do --> print out the specials, make nice "X"s on the items I want and then head off to the store. Never had a problem with pricing!

You're meant to place an order for the drive online then pick it up from the store. It's called an online special.

Yep, had this debate with PE last week, once you are registered the online order system works well - I've also had follow up from Esquire to rate the items I bought.
