Hi Guys

Seems i can maybe get a upgrade from MTN. I am currently using the Samsung S4 i9500. I was so sad once i bought the i9500 only to find out later it was the i9505 i should of taken as it was Google edition'able ( :P ). Now my question is the following :

Are there also more than one version of the Note 3? If so which version is the one I should be looking out for? Has anyone here got their Note 3 to a state of native android, or even a stable clean kitkat?

Also, I am not sure if I should wait for the S5 or just go with the Note 3. I do quite like the bigger screen.

Your thoughts would be appreciated :D

The equivalent version to the S4 i9505 would be the Note 3 n9005
not sure if it is google editionable though...

With the water/dust proofing the s5 is only 2-3mm smaller than a note 3 anyway. Deep down you know you want to get a note :P

Hey guys. Thanks for the advice. I would preferably want a Google Nexus 5 but neither Mtn nor vodacom seems to stock it. Im looking for a device to go as native android as possible

The Nexus 5 isn't available in SA... I'd say LG G2 will be the closest you will get (much closer to stock than Touchwiz IMO). Other than that, have a look at phones with good custom ROM support.

Do you not like Touchwiz?? If so, why not?

I want the latest version of android without the bloatware and i want it without waiting 6-12 months for it to be released by other manufacturers. So as I have the S4, i doubt i will find much better than the S5 or settle for the note 3 or perhaps the Sony Z2 coming out. Not keen on LG G2, friend has one. Not too fond of it.

Maybe then get yourself a no-phone contract and use the saved money over the 24 months to pay at least a portion of the price of the Nexus 5 from say Esquire or some other place

The new HTC One will be king again. In fact, I would say that if you get the Current Htc One, that it would still be a good phone in a years time.

+1 Never thought of it at the time... But that's a heavily customised ROM so maybe not so much what OP wants
