I am looking into getting this phone, this week on contract. I see Vodacom has an LTE one for R449pm, good deal? Also, I am an FNB client, and they have a Note II (presume it's 3G as they didn't specify) at R285. If I go for the 3G with FNB will I be missing much by not going LTE considering that I would keep the phone for 24 more months?

Also, anyone know of good deals other than the mentioned for a note 2?

Thanks for your assistance.

Depends on what you intend using the 3G/LTE for and how much you use mobile data vs wifi. For normal browsing, watching youtube, the odd download, etc, 3G works well. If you plan on using it for downloading a lot, or you feel that using 3G currently feels slow, then LTE is faster.

LTE does drain a lot more battery, but if you need the speed, it will be worth it.

Thanks Volkyrie. I will go with FNB, with all the discounts will pay between R185 - R235.

Unlike the S3 and S3 LTE, there is not much that differentiates the two, other than the fact that I read that the Note2 LTE is missing FM Radio, so if FM Radio is also a deal breaker then go with FNB, that's a lot of phone you're getting for the money. :)
