Hi there, I need a note taking app, where I can take notes from my phone, tablet or laptop.

It must be able to create notes while offline, which OneNote cannot currently do.

Preferably also not Evernote.

Thank you in advance.

If you don't mind me asking. Why not Evernote? It's just perfect for me.

Evernote is always mentioned in note taking app lists.

I tried it before, did not like the 20mb per month upload limit or the pricing structure. Though, I plan to use an app mostly for text and not photos or even PDFs.

It's actually 60mb per month and even with a heavy month and many screenshots and notes later I have never reached my limit in more than 5 years. Give it a shot before blasting it. There is really nothing better.

Its $5 a month to be able to have premium access to view your notebooks offline.

I have spotty ADSL where I live and a small data bundle. I need to be able to create and view notes offline, but for $5 a month, I would rather go elsewhere.

Would prefer not to go Google either, trying spring pad at the moment. It seems to be close to perfect for my needs.

I use notability on iOS, not sure if it is on other os's. Does the job for me.

Will check it out. I need something that can make a notebook inside a notebook, eg.

Aquariums notebook
---setting up
-----nitrogen cycle
-----beginner fish

Recipes
---breakfast
--------omelete
--------breakfast muffin
---lunch
--------pasta
--------burgers

---supper
-------pasta

OneNote had this kind of structure, but the offline limits kill it.

OK, so spring pad and I did not get along after all. I now sync a folder with sub folders on my memory card, with a folder in my SkyDrive using Foldersync.

I want text notes, with sub folders and having to do it once (text files should always be accessible) and not having an app die and I have to redo everything. I am easy to please yes?

I use Papyrus on the Note II for writing. Can send notes as pdfs, jpgs, etc

Papyrus sounds cool, I would use it if I had a stylus. So far my synced folders and text files seem to be the closest to what I want and need.

Still open to other options.

I just tested my one note offline.

Not sure what the issue is? It works just offline as per your requirements , it will just sync when you are connected to the net.
