Nothing strange about consecutive Lotto numbers

That could mean a number of things. Is it the same Raspberry Pi but a different program? Is it the same program but on another computer that could affect the results? Have people actually noticed clear patterns before that were just dismissed?

Then verified and audited doesn't mean much. Previous rigged lotteries were also audited and the results verified but nobody thought about checking the machines.

The above is all certainly possible. There’s just no evidence presented that it is happening. A contiguous sequence of lottery numbers is not sufficient evidence.

I think the same thing that causes people to tend to select numbers in a pattern, causes people to think that the lotto coming out with these sequential numbers is odd

Exactly, when it really depends on the frequency that these numbers appear, not whether or not they appear at all.

Nothing strange about consecutive Lotto numbers

Many people cried foul when last night’s Powerball draw produced a basic sequence of winning numbers - 5,6,7,8,9 and the bonus ball, 10.

There is, however, nothing strange about these numbers and they have exactly the same likelihood of emerging as any other set of six numbers.

Why is there a difference in number of winners between:
1-The winning 6 lottery winning squence of numbers relating to the number of winners
2-The 2nd 5+1 squence of numbers relating to 2nd number of winners.

I think you only win on the highest match you get. Because 4 numbers will win, but technically the same ticket will win a 3 number prizr as well. Poll

Geez and 4 people won the daily lotto. A lot of people are winning.

A line does not win more than once.

one number sequence is just as likely as the next surely..

but!

i remember when they read out the numbers live before they popped up in the machine. was mid/early 2000s i think.

they blamed a broadcasting delay, but everything was in sync when you watched them talk before and after the camera close up of the draw happening. even the sound effects of the machine and balls were in sync.

..lol

I call BS.
If I were to rig the lotto, then surely there are better ways to do it than to draw and publish sequential numbers? For a scam to succeed, I would not want the alerts and subsequent investigations, unless I was an idiot.
I suspect that this is either a Lotto marketing ploy, or a smokescreen to deflect attention from where all the millions in Lotto money is actually going.

Is there a rule that states this?
You would have to bread the T&Cs plus the FAQs.
Common sense tells me that would not be allowed so I have not bothered. A line wins once unless you decide to play Powerball Plus as well.

5. LOTTO WINNING SELECTIONS

5.1 A Participant who, in respect of any Selection, has three or more numbers which match the Winning Numbers drawn will be entitled to a Prize in the highest prize category to which those numbers relate.

Anyway, it was an interesting technicality.

The code is incorrect. The lottery is order invariant, while the algorithm searches for the specific draw order.

Also, this should be run multiple times and averaged to get a somewhat accurate probability.

The good news is that if you sort the combinations (to achieve order invariance) this will run a lot faster.
