novatel merlin U630 simlock?

I have Novatel Merlin u630 datacard from Vodafone I want to use it in Italy but the card just won't work. I've change firmwere ver. from 9 to v.14 I use Dashboard 5.0
when I start the dashboard it ask me for pin .... after i conform the pin there is signal, about 3-5 bars but there is no connection between sim and network, or dashboard and sim...
when i go to network serch it sees all 3 loco networks but i can't pick one(the right one) I also can't change nr. of sms center, can not see the list of contact in sim.

when i disablle the pin blockade on sim, Dashboard sais "there is a problem with sim.... reboot reinsert etc."

I've trayed 2 diferent sim cards ( I WIND - wich I want to use) and Vodafone IT
the behavior of the datacard and softwere is the same in both sims.

I thik the card got a simlock or is broken
I don't know wich vodafone network is the mother of this card, I got her from Poland but in Poland there is no vodafone

Can anybody help me?
If card is blocked how can I "free her"

I used my 'South African' Vodafone Novatel card in Italy without a problem.

You might have a problem selecting the correct network. I had to manually select the correct network.

Maybe give your local network operator a call on their local help desk and check a few things with them:

1) Is there 3G coverage in your area.
2) Is your SIM activated on the network.
3) Can they see you attach, etc.

yeah, but dashboard does not allowing me to change the network:

operator type status

vodafone it gprs current
I TIM gprs avaible
I WIND gprs avaible


I got this status of the networks but I cant change it (I want Wind)
For now I use this sim card in cell Ericson T65 an I got activated data promo.

for now I just want this card work so i did the profile just for gprs network

even when i put in the sim card from "vodafone IT" it still does't work nothing

yesterday I installed software from Wireless Novatel Mobilink and that soft , after I put the pin code , tells me: ENTER SIM ACTIVATION CODE

that sounds like simlock...

I think this card is from UK

Rather than trying to change an existing dashboard profile, perhaps it will help to setup a new profile using the dashboard? - just a thought - I have experienced some counter-intuitive behaviour with the dashboard, but once you get the profiles setup, it works nicely...

Have you set the APN to "internet"? Sound like you are getting kicked off by the APN...

yes I've changed the APN for the right one

Maybe there is an alternate softwere, other than dashboard?
or some serwis aplication to check this card
maybe it,s just bad card

why I can't change number of smscenter or set the network?
I'm sick of it for now.

o, I don't think that they really would wanna to help me when I use the Vodafone card,
They offer similar card for 350 euro...
