Lost the CD with the software for the device.

http://www.vodacom.co.za/packages/3g/downloads.jsp contains the drivers/software for the Novatel U630. I've downloaded the file that's got the MAC logo next to it, after unzipping the file there is no trace of a README file or anything related the MAC.

Can somebody please look at their CD and tell me if there is something related to MAC on in? And if possible perhaps copy it somewhere so I can download it? Unfortunatley the support desk at Vodacom was not very helpful... :(

Get software from here

Hiya

Posting from uk as I work for Vodafone here and we support Applemacs. Download software from here and install : http://www.business.vodafone.com/mobileofficeroot/enuk/p_software_tscs21.jsp

We use option cards here instead of novatel but this card is supported. The only downside to this is that dns servers r hardcoded to the software for the region ie uk. As far as I can see Vodacom does not mention support for Mac?? - I maybe wrong here but Vodafone shows that mac software is not available for SA. When you run software and activate, goto system preferences, network, and configure the interface tcp/ip properties and remove dns entries and apply. Don't know how things work there but you should be assigned dns automatically. Then dial. You should be fine.

Activation via software is normally done after each reboot but really not necessary - you can copy and create your own location settings and just use that to connect. Activation is only required if you need manual network selection/registration and changing apn.

Apple rocks!

cheers
