November 1 - Which Isp Will Be Better?

Sentech

of course it all depens on what you need/want but for me (and I guess couple of other folks) R 2097.00 a month is not the best option, I'd rather go Sentech or find some other reseller

Sentech - it seems much better as there is no cap, its a little slower etc. etc. etc. even if you get a good signal, have you read what they say about p2p, and large downloads, they will just cut you off if they think you're abusing - so what's the point of having no cap!. - sorry to say, it might be cheeper, but will cost alot to invest in a modem with them, or sign a 24 month contract only to find yourself cut off because you're downloading too much!

lol, I hope you're kidding

number one: when you think of ADSL you must think at least 30 GB a month (I know Telkom tries its best to condition us but pleaaaaase)

number two: the so called 'soft cap' : once you're capped you get the oh so generous 64k - just another joke brougth to you by Telkom

number three: 30GB of local - muhahahaha, doing what????
this site is the ony .co.za I ever visit, so here's my math:

OpenWeb:
30GB 3*699 = R 2097.00 a month

SAOL:
30GB 3*349 = R 1047.00 a month

of course it all depens on what you need/want but for me (and I guess couple of other folks) R 2097.00 a month is not the best option, I'd rather go Sentech or find some other reseller

I'd love to see their (OpenWeb's) OpenBROWSE product though, that might make me feel a bit better, but can't really comment on that before I see their prices.

...

refer to the post by me above this one ^^^.

And, by the way, Sentech do cap now.

128k - 10gb
256k - 20gb
512k - 30gb

Telkom simply dont know what they are doing

they are gonna drive us back to the stone age

I Hope you all Know that its saix thats doing this...not telkom.

I am assuming the 30gig local access applies to all IS based isp's ? I am with a IS based ISP and and there would be no point me going through the effort of signing up with another ISP if there was no difference (besides minor price differences)

Yip, that would be true.

Thanks because from my point of view the people advertising the 30gig local seem to make it out as if its a special offer from them, it seriously reduces what IS based ISP a person chooses. I am paying R250 p/m for my IS acc with email and it aint worth the hassle to save about 30 bucks.
