My mom is on CellC

every time she tries to make a call it says "number does not exist"

I tried calling myself from her phone and got the same thing.

Any idea what could be the matter?

She is receiving calls as per normal.
I know that she has tried calling a telkom landline, and my MTN number.

both give the same issue.

Best bet is to call celc.

I have had this issue as well, it comes and goes.

I have also been stuck on Edge (2G) since last week, I had full LTE service before last week, yet my sister on MTN and my Boyfriend on Vodacom both have 4G.

Porting tonight to Vodacom.

So over Cell C now.

One minute they are network sharing with MTN, then they moved all contracts to Vodacom Roaming.

What a mess.

My whole family is leaving Cell C.
I have been with them since the day they launched. Sad to go, but I can't put up with the constant poor network anymore.

We have already bought ourselves out of our contracts and begun our port outs.

2 of 6 numbers already on Vodacom now.
The rest to be ported next week.

Cell C should have stuck to MTN sharing.
The whole Vodacom roaming situation has left many Cell C customers with a bad taste in their mouths.

My wife has been experiencing this issue lately. She'll phone a number from her mobile (Cell C)... get a message, "number does not exist". I try from my phone (Vodacom) and it works just fine.

Outgoing port blocking perhaps?

Maybe switch her to Whatsapp calling. My mom kept relatives around the world, she would have a few hundred buck phonebills. Switched her to whatsapp calling and now they can even video chat for far less than what calls cost.

Most businesses are already on whatsapp too.

CellC Blocks 086 (and others I think) numbers on topup contracts, you have to manually load airtime. It's stupid as hell.

Very stupid indeed - and the fact that the notification says the number doesn't exist makes it even more stupid. Maybe if they actually said something along the lines of "the number is blocked, please load airtime" etc.
