I'd be wary of those cards until the prices and exact stock and specifications are confirmed.

But that's just me ;)

Just phoned Charles from PC123 - All this info is correct and should be available tomorrow - No ripoff.

I have bought from PC123 in the past and can only say good things.

8800gts = More Memory, Lower Clock Speed (320Mb 500Mhz)
8600gts = Less Memory, Faster Clock Speed (256Mn 675Mhz)

8600gts is R250 cheaper - but its a personal preference.

Persoanlly, I love my 8800GTX :)

More importantly 8800 gts 320 bit memory interface while 8600gts 128 bit memory interface. If they are close to the same price you would be insane to get 8600 above 8800 gts. And these prices as usual with hardware in SA are over the top.

za dude remember one thing vga cards do not run purly on speed

http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=475&card2=432

look at details that is the reason the card performs better than the 7950 x2 and if gpureview would load upt he 8600 already you would see a massive difference in performance vs price

for 250 less your getting a really slow card
if you paid the 250 extra which is not alot you would get a card that will handle anything thrown at it for the moment

hmm...so it would be a smart idea to getting my 7800gtx sold asap before I cant make any money off it :)
