Nvidia GPUs used to crack Wifi keys.

Damn. Somebody better make a plan asap about new encryption.

I guess it was only a matter of time though. Loads of universities are stocking up on GPU because they proved such good math bang/buck.
 
Another reason why I prefer having my access point plugged into my IPCop box and use mac address authentication as an addition.
 
I have played around with the cuda a bit and it is quite powerful, although it is not your everyday script kiddie that can use it ATM, that however is bound to change.

+1 for the MAC address authentication

i just added MAC address authentication to mine to be safe... :) and hidden the ssid...
 
Maybe I should use my super-GPU (Nvidia btw :D) to recover wireless keys.... :d

Doesn't do much. ssid's are transmitted whether they are hidden or not. If its hidden it just takes a little extra work(not much) to work out what it is.

Scary stuff though. :eek: Nothing been released so far from what I can gather.

MAC addy auth is very weak protection. It will only really work if someone is a complete n00b. If someone really wants to get into your system, they will...
