Just a suggestion. I happened to see someone yesterday watching a YouTube video about installing Android 8.1 on an old pc and using that as a tv box. Looked super simple and you don't need much more than an old pc with a HDMI port.

If you are aiming at a tv box, maybe give it a try. It looked super simple. Not sure if it would allow DSTV Now or Netflix to install from the Play Store though.
