Obed Bapela is the Deputy Minister of Communications. He was appointed to this position on 31 October 2010.
Kopeng Obed Bapela was born in 1958, and previously served as Parliamentary House Chairperson. He was also an anti-apartheid activist and a Member of Parliament of the Republic of South Africa.
He chaired the Global Centre on the ICT Board in Parliament, an initiative of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs and Inter-Parliamentary Union.
