Oblivion Remastered - The Thread

A quote from the announcement that I shared with friends, "It's 2025 and people are going to want to sprint"

I'm pretty sure I'm using shift to run in the way you described, will have to check tonight. It felt the same as Skyrim to me.
Definitely not

When you press shift it toggles sprint. I think you are confusing run with sprint

In Skyrim the sprint toggle was alt and everything else the same as it has been since Morrowind

They could've just done that

You could be right about me confusing run and sprint. I saw something about caps lock but didn't use it, just used the shift key to move faster. I think there might have been something in settings about it as well.

Capslock toggles between run and walk

Shift toggles sprint

Would not have bothered me if it didn't untoggle walk.
Will see if I can bind sprint to alt, but I think the game will still not let me hold shift to run while walk is toggled

Will have to see

Sitting here taking my time with the game, mostly walking everywhere. Look at this, look at that.

Meanwhile there are MFs trying to speed run the game, completing a ton of content in the few days it has been out.
Did you even taste it before swallowing it down.

TF!!! I'm still in the sewers... Sneak = 60 :D

I re-rolld and going old school, leveling up stats that I can so that I have a high level save file to start off this weekend.

I'm back in the sewers because i can't make up my mind about a build to settle on.

And here I am as a newbie just YOLOing it with mage and blade skills and a bit of extra luck  Now I'm going to sneak everywhere! I should have known some of this from my Skyrim experience but it's been a while.

Step A: Level in Sewers till your Sneak and Athletics are decent.
Step B: Join the arena and level fighting.
Step C: Deliver the Amulet and start playing the game.

Whoops, step C already accomplished. Am now busy looting and selling and hiding supplies in bags of grain  I'll ensure I sneak and jump a lot, the vendors will no doubt be impressed! Haven't seen an arena yet but that mud crab didn't know what hit it!!

Thanks for the video! Am currently at the Imperial City so will give the arena a try tonight, but only after I finish shopping and looting

Step C is optional though. Play the game for a couple 100 hours and then do Step C to get the achievement.

14 years later and i still haven't completed the MSQ in Skyrim.

Unlike Skyrim, it won't trigger stuff like random dragon attacks or such so no need to keep it. Also keeping it can cause accidental selling that will halt progress till you find who you sold it to.

Best is to give it to Jauffre (he will lose it but that's part of the story) and then explore. Also the +1 weight is an unnecessary burden when you out looting. :D

The inventory weight management is real! Hoping the reddit info to store my valuables in grain sacks works out, until I get a house or access to proper storage. At least my Skyrim knowledge tells me I don't need to carry an impressive selection of kitchenware.

Surprisingly good performance

Outside areas has a bit of a stutter every once in a while, but running on high at 2k resolution, DLSS balanced, with a RTX3060 is not too shabby

Way better performance than starfail

I hate the sprint button with a passion though
That's good news

I'm also planning to play 1440p on my 3070ti, probably DLSS quality

Okay, I checked and I'm not using walk in my game so I run automatically and then hit shift once to sprint. Seems to work okay for me but I guess I may need to try walking in some situations but default will be running for now.

Still not perfect and still too brown in parts, but this looks so much better guys:

Will def get some mod like this when and if I get the remaster. Still can't believe they made the game so brown lol. Needs even more green!!
