Oblivion Remastered - The Thread

honestly a remastered/remade Morrowind would've been better :) Oblivion is the weaker of the 3 "recent" Elder Scrolls
I disagree. Personally I never loved Morrowind. Game always felt tedious as hell.

Skyrim is my favourite overall but Oblivion is very, very close behind.

See Oblivion is the one I found tedious :-) sure it was pretty, but I mean a lot would've been pretty compared to Morrowind. But the things you could do in Morrowind :-).

Never played Morrowind, not sure why, had a capable PC at that time. Never played it so have missing frame reference when folks compare the ES titles.
Would be great if they could. Gives people like me who missed the boat and new generation an opportunity to experience it if remastered like they did with Oblivion.

Loved Morrowind when it came, but highly doubt I would have played it if released today.
Dont have the time to play it now and when it was release there was waaay less games competing for my time.

Oblivion will always be special to me as it was the 1st game I played on 360.

Skyrim made the series more accessible for casual gamers so it has a place as well.

Morrowind needs a total remake for me to enjoy it. As in full voice acting for everyone for a start. There's way too much reading required in the game and dialogues are confusing as heck. Reading puts me to sleep. Silent games with little to no voice acting puts me to sleep. Huge, boring maps put me to sleep :(

Game needs to be completely remade which I doubt will ever happen. A remaster won't fix it for me.

Not a Nintendo fan I take it :-P.
There would need to be a lot of VA for Morrowind, remember it came out in a completely different era of gaming. There was some VA though for some characters, but yeah I am pretty sure the reading put a lot of people off.
But the maps aren't boring, sometimes you'll find things, like a guy who attempted to fly, but didn't. A love letter that was never delivered or some old dwarven things that need inspection.

Well in that case Daggerfall is def out of the question for you :P

Loved oblivion, was my introduction to The Elder Scrolls games. Skyrim was okay, never finished it even though I tried many playthroughs. Finished Oblivion twice

Nope, never had a nintendo except for a gameboy in the 90s.

In general, I'm not a massive fan of Japanese RPGs.

Exactly, which is why I say only a total remake can fix the game for me.

Compared to later games though, it is. Felt much more immersed in the worlds of Oblivion and Skyrim.

100%. I tried to play Daggerfall (when NAG gave it away for free on one of their dvds) but I never made it farther than maybe 5 minutes into the game lol. Game is a big fat NOPE for me.

Partly because of the very first rat in the opening dungeon that imo is one of the hardest creatures to kill in gaming history, but also partly because of everything else. :p

And then Elder Scrolls 1 I've never even touched.
