Oblivion Remastered - The Thread

Still not perfect and still too brown in parts, but this looks so much better guys:

Will def get some mod like this when and if I get the remaster. Still can't believe they made the game so brown lol. Needs even more green!!
Lol it even made the (gaming) news :p

I see the male/female mod that replaces the body type crap is back up, but with comments disabled:

Another one I'll bookmark :)

89 year old Shirley Curry, who exclusively plays Skyrim and who is desperate to play ES6 before she dies, says she will try to play this remaster.

Been following her for years but I don't know if she has ever played Oblivion. Don't think she has. But I think if she's so desperate for ES6, then nows her chance to play something new in the ES series. Unfortunately, I think ES6 is still quite a few years away. Like 10 years at least lol. Makes me sad for her :(

For those that don't know, she's one of the oldest gamers and a Skyrim superfan. Her little house is full of dragons and Skyrim stuff lol. Bethesda even said there will be a character in ES6 based on her but she has said repeatedly that they never contacted her again, she was never invited to the ES studios for recording sessions etc, so it sounds like there might be an old lady in the game but with someone else's voice etc. Not cool of Bethesda.

Okay, I checked and I'm not using walk in my game so I run automatically and then hit shift once to sprint. Seems to work okay for me but I guess I may need to try walking in some situations but default will be running for now.
Yeah, there is only a toggle between run and walk

Holding shift to run while walking no longer there, because the run button was replaced with sprint
Annoying that they changed the standard controls that spanned 3 games, but am slowly getting used to it

Something else they took away was the ability to interact with objects in the environment
In the OG version while looking at something and holding Z you could pick up cups, plates, bone etc and fling them around

The chains in the starter jail you could also move around while holding Z

Just some weird omissions

Grand master in Area.

Finally ready to play the game this weekend.
Hoping to check out the arena tonight, got distracted and ended up getting into some light alchemy along with the looting and shopping. Need to see if I can improve some magic skills, maybe illusion and conjuration. I seem to remember destruction in Skyrim required using those spells in a fight and not throwing them at a wall .

Hahaha they kept this in the remaster and they even lip synced it :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

^ have to say though, based on that vid, the facial expressions looked better in the original game. She looks scared and looks around nervously in the original, but in the remaster she just looks straight ahead, no emotions. And she's uglier.

It is actually affecting gameplay

With the persuasion mechanic you are suppose to select which comment will make them pleased with you based on facial expressions

I've had a few where I could tell no difference in expressions no matter what part of the selection wheel I hover over

Yeah can imagine. Def a downgrade that imo.

The fact that this remaster is doing so incredibly well just shows how hungry people are for a new Elder Scrolls.

The wait for ES6 is rediculous but there's no doubt the wait will be worth it in the end. Kinda wish the forgettable Starfield never happened because then ES6 could have been here much sooner. To think we could have been playing ES6 right now if it wasn't for Starfield :(

I actually enjoyed Starfield. Ironically a lot of the complaints people had with it is present in this very game people cant get enough off ie: Load screens, copy paste dungeons and all.

Think the main problem with the game was that you needed to complete the main story in order for real game to start. Most people did everything before they got to the end, killing the game. Also in order to NG+ after that required too many steps. Some altered universes was actually very interesting eg one where everyone was children and such.

The game was good enough but def not as good as I thought it would be. And far inferior to both Elder Scrolls and Fallout.

Personally I've only played Starfield once but never finished it because of a game-breaking bug that made progression impossible. Not sure when or if I'll ever have the urge to play it again tbh.

At least it was far better than Outer Worlds :)

Started this last night.
Awesome so far

Never played the original - I think I spent most of those times playing online poker - so this is all completely new for me.

Huge performance dive in the open world though - 120ish to 60ish - i5 12400, 3070ti.
1440p, high present with shadows and reflections set to medium, DLSS Performance

Skyblivion is also releasing this year btw. Two Oblivions in one year!

I see Bethesda gave everyone on the Skyblivion team free Oblivion Remaster game keys.

Let's be fair though

Oblivion is a remaster of a 20 year old game

Starfield is a new game with the same problems as a 20 year old game

That's the difference

Basically in 20 years nothing changed when it comes to Starfield
Also, if 'the real' game only starts after completing the current 'what, not real game?' then you designed it crap
