oblivion requirements

great game. gets weird for a while but then becomes great again

P4 and a Celeron aren't the same as far as I know ....... Celerons have never been known to be gaming chips at all.

awesome

will definately get it then. will hopefully be upgrading my card in december so will be able to run it better then.

been playing alot of FPS games and looking for something a little deeper to immerse into.

been playing stuff like dungeon siege (rad!!!!) etc and loving it. so if this is as good as everyone is saying.

im in!!!

+1

Glad you experienced Dungeon Siege. Friggen orsm game!

Personally, I don't like oblivion so much. It's too much focus on realism / graphics instead of gameplay for me. But not a bad game at all, just not my style. Give yourself a go at some of the following titles:

1) Fable (still one of my favourites to date & #2 is coming out soon)
2) Knights of the old republic 1 & 2 (best ever games)
3) Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2 (although the camera angles suck)
4) The Witcher (brilliant one)
5) Titan Quest
6) Buldur's Gate 1 & 2

I won't encourage you to try Diablo2 (which is essentially the benchmark), since the graphics are outdated and you won't appreciate it for its true worth.

Once you're into these games (which take more than a month to finish, each), you can move onto MMORPG (RPG's online with thousands of dudes) like:

1) Guild Wars
2) Age of Conan
3) Lord of the rings Online
4) World of Warcraft

Be warned though, the latter will consume months if not years of your life before you even realise it.

Celerons have varied over time, but generally speaking they're P4's with some of the cache removed.

They fail at life.

played knight of the old republic. was cool

tried my hand at mass effect and got a little bored

had my eye on titan quest, i hear it is great

i reckon i am going to give oblivion a bash

im way too enquisitive to ignore it

I thoroughly enjoyed Oblivion (on PC - just for anyone thinking I'm an XBOX fanboi :p). It was one of the most immersive gaming experiences EVER. Second only to Morrowind (which is, IMHO, the best Elder Scrolls game, or RPG, or just GAME ever).

Morrowind nice -- Oblivion suxs unf. It does however become better however if you have plenty of bandwidth to download all the necessary mods to repair the job Bethesda did not bother to do :)

Here's a link to the "Q2three" forums which has a very good and tested mods list for oblivion. This is the second version of this -- I did try the first lot of mods and yee it changes your gameplay extensively which is definately good. Check it out, but beware the first lot was more than a 3 gb dl.
