Ocotel speed upgrades

Who is Ocotel?
Assuming Octotel?
Yea, not of much practical use for me as the crap router they give on their 100Mbps lines can't even get close to that speed unless connected via ethernet.
Will check my speed later on the IPTV app's built in speed test on the Ematic media box.

I had yesterday and was still on 35/25, forgot to check this morning. will check when I get home

Noticed just now that Afrihost has new pricing on the Octotel network which is very tempting. I've been a bit irritated with RSAWeb for a while (long story) and this might just be the push I needed to migrate. Currently paying R 1085/month for a 100Mbps line so there is some saving or a nice...

I was upgraded from 50 to 100M. Really hope they make this permanent
 
Noticed this week that my speed on Octotel went from 100/100 to 200/200. Didn't know we were getting increases. :)
 
It's always nice to get these little upgrades, even if it's only temporary.

On RSAWeb here, mine was upgraded.
However, I had to message them via online chat.

At first the techs wanted to troubleshoot, but eventually they asked me to reboot ONT and router and speed was upgraded.
They still have to enable it on their side, Octotel's side is done.

Just to be sure, this is for all lines? not just new sign ups? im on hold for the Webchat

my router might not have reset due to the back up power supply, so makes sense a restart might sort this out

Will only be able to check when I'm home but logging into portal, package still states 100/100. Submitted a ticket to see what they have to say. ISP is Faircom
