oh damn and here I was feeling relief because I need our process to take 3 months :X3:

you must be so relieved you’re almost at the end

Yeah the last few weeks were a pain, my tracker wasnt updated for 4 weeks and some change saying "awaiting deed from seller". At the beginning of Nov I started sitting on the attorneys heads pushing for lodgement before the end of Nov.

According to the attorney the title of the house was put on the sellers name mid-Oct, so from then till 20th Nov no one could tell me where the original deed was. Eventually the deed showed up at the sellers attorneys office and my transfer got lodged the next morning

Lucky you,

I just sold and bought a house at the same time. Sold my house and went hunting for a new house and found one in Germiston 2 weeks later. The transfers for both houses are still in progress. I have to wait for my current house to be register in the new owners name and for the new house I bought to be register in my name. The whole process started about 6 weeks ago. Was hoping for everything to be concluded by mid December but I do not think it would happen. Also the Deeds offices are closing in December. I'll be lucky to move in by End Jan 2021.

It's been a month and two days since we signed the OTP, and the whole process is halted.

Getting info from the attorneys is like drawing blood from a stone, and my emails are being ignored.

Business must be too good this time of year:rolleyes:

We signed today and the lawyers said because of the huge backlog at the council our stuff is likely to only get lodged and registered next year Jan / Feb

My attorneys has not mentioned this.
Apparently they will lodge tomorrow, then the property should register in the week of 7 - 12 Dec.
Also Tshwane.
Maybe they already had all the certificates and cancellation amount etc..

Learn from my biggest mistake doing a huge eft. It lies in trust and earn peanuts!

Ask for the transfer side, what their trust fund earn!!!!!! (Without fees)!!!

If we register on 12 Dec, will the debit order go off at end of December?
If we register on 17 Dec, will the debit order go off at end of January?

It is bank depending. For fnb, before the 16th, the next month. After, in 2 months, but use your banking app to see the the processing date.

I'm more shocked that your transfer attorney shares information and updates you, but yeah that is really quick
So, any sellers/potential sellers in the Joburg area who are looking for a conveyancer who does things right and keeps you updated, I can thoroughly recommend ours.
