Good luck guys.

Hoping all goes through quickly!

We are still waiting for the old clause to be removed from the Title Deed. That should happen this week.
Attorneys had to re-apply for rates and taxes clearance because everything has taken so long now.

Otherwise everything is ready.

Meanwhile we are loving the new place but can't do anything until the registration takes place.

Just want to get those yucky carpets out of the bedrooms and replaced with tiles ASAP!

Why can't you upgrade while occupational renting? I've done tons already. If I didn't, it would have been a four month delay.

What happens if for some reason the transfer is rejected?

Our OTP states we are not allowed to make any changes for all the reasons stated above already. Unless we get written consent from the seller. (Not going to go through that hassle)

We'll just wait another we weeks. And make sure about our tile preferences while we wait.

The house is technically still the sellers' so any changes you do make are at your own risk - but essentially you're changing the sellers house, not yours
I get that, but I stuck to my end of the deal and did everything right, this place supposed to have lodged 3 months ago. I would have never managed the past 3 months here without aircons LOL. Oh well, noted for next time

Buying property is mostly fun. If its the 1st, 5th or 10th property!
I'm not sure what you mean by fun there.

I'm hating this process so much I almost wish that I were back in my flat. I've got an incredibly grumpy seller to deal with, and a bank which has finally gotten their documents properly amended, but it took weeks. (Pro tip. Don't marry a foreigner. It confuses the local financial institutions.)

Yeah look - i get you - we had security issues here and a baby who isn't water safe so we did make some upgrades - but we chatted to seller before and got their go ahead.

Have you had a look at vinyl flooring, my whole house has vinyl and it is perfect.

It is waterproof and very durable.

Do yourself a favour and get a good bond originator. They'll make the process a breeze and help you around the little tricks. I can recommend you one if you want?

I hear you. I initially tried to get one but had no success. Powerbond took 4 days to reply to me, and OOBA had some issue on their website that didn't allow me to register. So I gave up and just went ahead and applied myself: I applied to SAHL, Nedbank, ABSA and Standard Bank. FNB don't seem to have an online application platform, quite shocking. Nedbank was the most responsive by far and have already come back with an offer of 6.95 (If I open a transactional account with them) or 7.2 if I don't. ABSA gave me pre-approval for 7.05 but still waiting on confirmation from them.

Still waiting on the other banks.

Not sure what you mean - I went to their website. No way to apply, I can only request a "Call me back" ?
