Hi

My cousin and I need wireless internet in KZN (Estcourt)
If anyone could add us coverage we are offering R14000 just to add the coverage!

If any1 is interested in helping out PM me please.

We need:

Uncapped
128kbps or more
p2p after hours

:D

Are you sure you can't get ADSL?

Why don't you buy a plane ticket, fly to Tokyo, download all you want and come back? That would be even cheaper and money well spent ;)

cant get adsl and i dont wanna fly to tokyo then when new stuff comes out to download i must go to tokyo again? :|

Why don't you just move to Tokyo?

I wouldn't pay R14000 to be connected, ever ;) :D :p But it's your money, you'll see how the pm's roll in, just be patient.

If you use that R14K and get a Vodacom 3G connection, you'd still be able to download a whole lot more.

Moonbaby, do people actually *live* in Estcourt? :D
Okay but seriously, there are heaps of people around there who do have ADSL I know this because i used to have clients in the area.
What you could do if your exchange is not enabled would be to just get someone with LOS to you to get an uncapped line installed and then setup a basic wirless link, its not very difficult to do.

what about a 3g card and 3g router? faster than wifi isp though there is a cap

once again i wanted uncapped
we cant get 3g where we live and we can not get adsl

@teraside: My wife has actually started doing this. Subscribed to NTTs 47Mbits/s ADSL uncapped service for one month, downloaded ~200GB in 2 weeks and is now planning another trip in January. The total cost for the month of ADSL was R200~R250 which includes the WiFi router rental (and of course free delivery of the router etc.) - no additional connection or termination charges etc. I think that some of the hotels in Tokyo even offer free uncapped fibre access to tourists at between 100Mbps and 1Gbps. She has now stopped downloading anything in SA because it's so slow and expensive. I'd have to say that it's a very viable option particularly for somebody who might be interested in electronics or Japanese culture.

Hawaii is another option. Can make unlimited use of one of the citywide WiFi networks at around 2Mbps for $35. The WiFi apparently works better than our HSDPA from inside one of the condominiums near Waikiki beach. I'm sure that there are much cheaper options than Japan or the US like Hong Kong, Germany or the UK. Another advantage is that Telkom, Vodacom and MTN don't get to see any of your money!

Cool Yotch, thanks for the confirmation ;) If I can afford the trip one day, I'd definitely do it myself.
