Offers of Uncapped service

No catch, only costs. R480 from all you can eat and R720 from Web Africa. In Web Africa this is hosted by UUNet. I am recommending Web Africa based on been hosted by UUNet.

Can anyone confirm regarding all you can eat pricing it confirms R480 per month for 12 months, then what? does it increase and what is the length of the contract if any?

It increases to R980 a year. I presume once your first year contract at R480 has finished, you will have to extend it for another year at R980. But you will have to confirm this with them. Don't forget it's only R480 if you sign up this month. Think VERY carefully before you sign up.

AYCE are supposed to be hard at work reworking that contract of theirs, so I would hold off until there's a new contract that isn't as one-sided ;).
They did that alright - service is now capped at 30gb! Bet they love all the free publicity they got here and on itweb.co.za.

I managed to speak with all you eat sales director, he ensure it is a contract for one year at R480 per month. The special only is for this month. I further had a discussion with a senior executive at UUNet regarding stability in which was shown great stuff and they felt confident about the service. In addition previously contracted to UUNet and while as an employee had ADSL without any capping and it worked like a dream. I am thinking to signup by only for a year while R480 allows. I will keep all posted regarding any development and provide feedback.

As far as I'm aware AYCE runs off telkom not UUNET so I fail to see what impact they would have on AYCEs service.

12 months is a long time to commit to an untried and frankly untrustworthy operator. Now that they've rescinded the uncapped part of the allyoucaneat I'm not interested – in fact I’m going to heckle them:

Liar, liar pants on fire!!
Much better

sorry typo error was thinking Web Africa. I can understand that you don't want to commit to signing a 12 month contract. I however wish to get the uncapped service and thus sit with All You can Eat or Web Africa with one service at R480 to R720 in both cases would have to contract to them. Does anyone have any other recommendations?

Hi brucel - I'm seriously considering cyberonline who are backed by UUNET. They offer a month-to-month for R729 or a 12 month contract for R649.00 - both are uncapped and unshapped (niether of which AYCE can claim to be). I'll let ya all know what its like.

Thanks for this one. I am all for an ISP using UUNet. While at UUNet never only got great service and was always online except when Telkom lines would go down. I used to download around 80GB a month with good speeds using Bit Torrent. Thanks for the info keep us updated.

and now for all those ISP's reading this thread... how about a gaming package? No shapping capped to say 2 Gig with uber low pings  all for under R300

Allyoucaneat are a bunch of scamming lyers - ASASA must hear about this. Please read the last line of what is "included" with their so called "uncapped" offering:

Included:
Instant online signup.
ADSL username and password. You choose your own username and password.
ADSL service to a single computer or a single router at any one time.
Account works at 512, 384 and 192 kbps, depending on your ADSL line's speed.
Control Panel (see screenshots here)
Telephone Helpdesk: weekdays 8:30am - 5:00pm.
30GB per month <--------------------------------- WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS IS NOT UNCAPPED!!!!!!!

Lying bastards....

UUNet is currently shaped, for those considering the CyberOnline approach, who knows tho, maybe they will provide an unshaped option.

Thats odd - as here on their website they clearly state "CyberOnline’s service is Uncapped and Unshaped.".

Might I ask where you got your info from?
