Has any one tried the new office 2010, and....?
VS OFFICE 2007
VS OFFICE 2003
VS OFFICE ORG [ OPEN SOURCE]

Haven't used it long enough to compare or comment. But I agree it's not that huge difference.

Quite happy with Office 07.

Biggest change is with Outlook, if you don't use that you probably won't notice much change other than menus being shuffled around a bit.

I use Office Pro 2010 + Windows 7 Ultimate on a Asus Dual Core 1.73Ghz with 2GB RAM notebook .... and it flies. :)

Yeah, Outlook looks exactly like the other Office apps......perhaps feels a bit "cluttered" the first time you use it, but you get used to it.

Very nice indeed.

Office 2010 Professional Plus FTW, make sure to use the 32bit version even if you have Windows XP/Vista/7 64bit.

Exactly what I'm using. Very impressive.

Looks like Microshaft is on the roll. :)

I got a trial copy of Office 2010 Pro from an overseas computer magazine sold locally (PC Advisor), but the link they provided to get the activation code didn't work, and from what I could see of the Microsoft site you can only get the code AFTER you have downloaded the whole 600MB file. Which obviously I don't need to do. Grrrrrr. Anyone out there got an activation code I can use please?

If it's Professional Plus, here is the link https://www.microsoft.com/betaexperience/productkeys/off2010proplusiw/enus/ and click on "Get It Now", make sure to use IE or Firefox as Chrome isn't supported without IE Tab.

Thanks, but my version appears to be Office Professional 2010 Beta, not Plus. Also in any case when I checked the site, unless I'm missing something it again appears to want me to download the whole thing (which I don't need to do because I already have a magazine disc) before it will give me an activation code. So still looking for someone who can provide a code please.

Download again? The key is right at the top when you login after clicking "Get It Now", it's clear as black and white like a fat panda :D under the name "MAK Key: XXXXX - XXXXX - XXXXX - XXXXX - XXXXX". The download link is right at the bottom of the page if that is required(and it seems like you aren't keen on that part). It's quite strange how you were given Professional and not Professional Plus... As the only other SKU on offer is Home and Business.

Yup got it this time thanks. Must get my eyes tested one of these days.... Seriously, I think I must have got lost somewhere along the way having to jump through all the hoops to sign up for a Live ID in order to get to that page, so I never got to see the actual activation number. OK now. No idea yet (before installing) whether it could indeed be Professional Pro as you suggest, as both the disc jacket and the PC Advisor magazine info file accompanying it list it merely as Office 2010 Professional beta. Won't know for sure until (and if) it installs with this serial number. Thanks again for the help.
