Office PABX - Talk IP - Anyone had any experience with them?

Telkom wants to get rid of our Venus PABX system here at our offices and give us a proposal on upgrading it. But these guys (Talk IP) have also given us a quote. Looks quite nice. I just wanted to get some feedback on them first.

So these are our current options...

1) Leave the Venus system in place, but Telkom say they cannot guarantee the parts or personnel to service it. Current Rental is R860 a month.

2) Upgrade with Telkom to a new PABX box, be locked into a new 3/5 year contract and probably an increase in fees. No installation fee.

3) Upgrade with Talk IP to a Samsung DCS 816 system, get new phones, service, Battery back-up, Cost routing management, Telkom Liaison, SLA, etc. for R730 a month (60 month contract - no installation fee).

Anyone got another option for me?

Hi Gary,

I can't really pick up much about them, they are a Samsung re-seller and either re-sells their VoIP or maybe ECN's. The PBX (Samsung 816) has been discontinued as far as I know and replaced by the Samsung 7030 or 7070 (Full IP PBX's) You can confirm this by contacting MIA Telecoms (the actual importer of the full Samsung PBX Range) they are in Midrand. I am also 99% sure that the old PBX they propose will be second-hand and only the phones will be new. Stay away.
