Hi Guys,

For the last couple of months I intermittently get a "Remote Server returned '550 5.1.8 Access denied, spam abuse detected'" error when sending emails from office365. I let MS know and they fix it, but its getting really annoying now. Is anybody else experiencing this issue and how was it resolved properly?

Its getting to the point now that I am considering cancelling office365. Alternatives are Google apps? I am not using the sharepoint section, though something similar would be nice to have for in future. The biggest thing is just managing all my different email addresses.

:/

Check that your domain isn't listed on a blacklist somewhere.

Been using O365 for over a year now and haven't had this happen once to us or any of our clients.

hmm... I am using the onmicrosoft.com domain though and I have been using them for the past year and half too. This has been happening only in the last couple of months.

I'll check up on the blacklist issue.

Maybe register your own domain, the onmicrosoft.com domain can be blacklisted when other tenants spam through it.

I do have a domain, so I'll give that a try and hope it solves it.

No issues on my side or any of our clients with some heavy sending happening on our accounts from our ticketing system, also on custom domains. Can you post the exact error message? I suspect office 365 has limitations on mail relay for the default domains to avoid them getting blacklisted elsewhere and office 365 is blocking you due to your outgoing volumes exceeding their limits.

If I send 2 emails a day its a lot, so its not because of volumes. I'll set up a domain at some point and hopefully get this all sorted.
