AFC Bournemouth is a professional association football club based in Bournemouth, Dorset, that plays in the Premier League, the top tier of the English football league system. Formed in 1890 as Boscombe St. John's Institute F.C., the club was reformed in 1899 as Boscombe F.C.. They changed to Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic F.C. in 1923, before settling on their current name in 1972. Nicknamed The Cherries, since 1910 Bournemouth have played their home games at Dean Court. Their home colours are red and black striped shirts, with black shorts and socks.

Thought the Mighty Cherries deserved a thread of their own since their exploits the past two seasons.

I'm enjoying the work Howe is doing at bournemouth - seems like a really talented young english manager whose football is quite pleasing on the eye.

Only past couple seasons never been a huge football fan, but chose them purely because they had never played in the Premier League prior to last season and loved the story behind their rise.

yeah, it is a remarkable story. I think you guys are going to stay up for a few seasons.

He really is he gets a lot out of some very average players from my limited knowledge.

I hope so this season is already looking fairly safe even though still lots of season to go, as long as we keep taking points of the bigger teams like we did against Arsenal (even though we threw it away).

Agreed. Their biggest challenge will be hanging on to Howe because the big boys will be knocking if he carries on doing what he is doing.

The fact that he has managed more playing minutes for Bournemouth in half a season than he did for Arsenal in 2 years speaks for itself, i think he slots in well to Eddie Howe's playing style. He has been solid works hard in that midfield.
 
AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe addressed the media following the conclusion of the 2016/17 season at Leicester City.

The Cherries finished 9th in the Premier League, recording their highest ever league finish.

Here’s what the manager had to say.

On finishing 9th in the Premier League…

I think it’s complimentary to the players and how they have conducted themselves. The results in the main have been good but it’s not something we really planned for.

Obviously we would have loved to have done it but it wasn’t something we planned early in the season. The improvement of the team has been really good and I’m proud of the players.

It’s a real justification of how the team has improved, we want to improve year on year.

Well done to AFC Bournemouth for their highest ever finish in the Premier League improving on last seasons 16th to finish 9th.
