i tried to play a game this weekend, only games available were nuketown and original maps, all very boring, gameplay lasted a min or two then exited, been playing TF2, i am super crap at it but find it far more enjoyable.

LoL, saw the same thing happen yesterday, lol. The guy running around trying to pick up a gun.

Maybe with these mods, they should have a pile of guns in the middle, and everyone needs to run for them...... just imagine all the caming around that pile

I played the zombies mod last night... really fun, each round starts with a zombie and a king, every guy the zombie kills becomes a zombie who needs to kill the king... Only headshots kill zombies.

I remember that, some or other team had that mod in MW2. Everyone was just too scared to get banned, so there wasn't too many. But it was still al ot of fun

I saw that IkonicIT has their own server now running the new maps, but it is empty most of the time...

Hundreds of servers are empty, with only a few that have some players on.
Looks like only on league nights are there a few more servers busy.

How depressing, this used to be my top game, got quite good at it played everyday, the game is now dead and buried, new map packs coming out but nobody in SA will buy it, too expensive, ouch R100, nevermind we can all go out next weekend spend 250 bucks on getting pissed and moan about how its too much to pay and play the old game instead, BF3 wont last long and MW3 will be boring aftre a couple months because SA gamers want the extra addons and map packs for free.

With almost 1000hours on the game and still playing it, I think it differs from person to person... Yes, R100 isn't a lot, but it is a lot when you are the only person paying for the maps and never get to play it. Map pack 3 is upon us and a buddy of mine wanted to buy it for me and I told him, unless the both of us are going to play the new zombie map, I don't see the use of getting it. I want to play the new maps so badly, but there is no one playing them, so yeah, spending my 3rd R100 on the maps, is kinda a waste. Kinda like playing lotto.

Yeah, not getting the 3rd pack, doubt anoyone will really. Pity because they look like decent maps.
But there is still a boat load of ppl playing black ops, so it's nowhere near to being dead and buried.

"so it's nowhere near to being dead and buried." differs from person to person its worse than MW2 waiting for a server to play a newer map to the point that i dont play at all anymore, any future purchases of games in SA that will get map packs is a waste of money, decided for you by your local tight 'gaming' community

Then you can see how many people join your server and for how long it stays busy... The point is, the servers are patched with the maps free of charge. But in order to play them you need to purchase them obviously. On the RoS server, for instance, even now if the First strike maps come on then the server starts running empty, if Escalation comes on there are only about 8 players left on the server. 4 vs 4 on TDM is not fun because one team might decide to camp and then it sucks a$s for the other team...

You cannot keep everyone happy, so it is easier to keep the "tight" ones happy because at least you know you will have a full server.

100% correct, I have disabled both DLC maps on my server... otherwise it dies out...

BTW RoS & Slaughter, sorry about Sat.... my guys were mal at me for trying to play softcore So I shot them all in the backs as they spawned lol. But now that the HC NGL servers are up, we can try again for sure!

ya its unfortunate that it kinda dies out due to many reasons, i totally get what youre saying about the emptiness and less players, if more people bought the maps it would be better, its probably more treyarchs fault for not putting them all in one big map pack and selling it to us one time, i am pretty picky when it come to Blops, if i feel like playing a new map i bought then i want to play the new ones and cycled old maps just wont do, makes sense why they gtive it for free to the server owners though, Slaughts im not knocking people who hired servers, just a tad frustarted that the game is so limited and isnt fun anymore.
