Ya I am using a 9800GT and it is terrible in solo
Ive still got bad lag after the patch, all latest drivers installed, machine of good specs, which leaves one culprit the R496 1mb/s axxess/ IS adsl (advertised as 4mb/s) and is only 4mb/s after 12midnight, really crap adsl package not enough for gaming
Would be fairly simple to identify the problem.
Go buy some bandwidth elsewhere and test, it might cost you 20 bucks though but it's better than wondering.

Get Afrihost 1GB @ R29, it's IS BW and unshaped.

I'm on a 384kb line and ping a steady 80 to CPT servers. Got an MWeb account yesterday for 80 bucks a month, capped at 3GB.
It was difficult to tell if I had FPS stutter at all, but after the latency was sorted I have zero issues. Oh wait, my game started to randomly crash a few times and I reinstalled directx from the steamapps folder, which seem to have resolved that. A lot of good "tweaks" can be found here: FragWorld on BO.
Especially look for at the multi GPU, multi-thread tweaks and adjust accordingly. For some reason the developers thought the majority of people have a single core CPU and dual GPU's. I wonder how they figured that?

Nah, mine was running perfect this morning when I tested the game.
But the servers were quite empty, so will probably see this evening when the servers are more populated, if it runs as well.

I'm beginning to wonder if multiple users on one connection is going to be a problem. In my UpNp settings in my router I can see that the one machine is using the correct port (3074) but my machine is using 3075??? I play no problem, but can't see all the SA servers. The other machine gets constant disconnect errors....
Now I have been reading about port forwarding via the router settings here: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Netgear/DG834G/Call_of_Duty_-_Black_Ops.htm will following these step help me out?? Anybody else sharing a connection while playing BO ?!?
