I soothe myself with the knowledge that that 250 will disappear in the sea of Kills after 12 days or so now that the fragging can commence.

That can't be right. Reinstalling from the DVD should give you the 102mb initial update, 8mb patch and 2mb rcon updates only.
 
I've had it installed since launch. It just decided that it couldn't verify those files. I was too lazy to do a reinstall last night, since first it was just the mp, so I thought, well downloading 320MB is less hassle than reinstalling and dl'ing 200MB (100MB each for MP/SP). But this morning, when mp was on its way to being done, the sp came up saying it needed 200MB. So I need about 250MB, which is still less hassle than reinstalling, but I would have done it if I knew this would happen.

Well, I came home early and just played a full 30min of flawless, lagless HC S&D. All my probs are practically gone. I see more SA servers now (still not as many as my wife does), we can play at the same time with no lag or disconnects. Damn I just did a 40 K for 21 D game .. I'm loving this already! If that is what one little update can do ... wooo hoooo And best of all its light on the network, up was about 10kb ave and down about 30kb avg. So guys on 384 should play nicely!
 
was so stoked when i checked the patch, played this morning it seemed lots better got 14/2 on on game now its as bad as it was yesterday, i never sworn so much at a game ever, the C word just doesnt have the same oomph anymore, ive tried You Royal C@#$ and 24 Carat C@#$ but no relief lol, until i get better internet its impossible to compete against 2-10mb/s opponents.

Yes, but I was asking if you could group up before joining a server - which then causes you to join a server as a "party" on the same side.

Fun for playing with buds over Skype. This was possible with MW2.

Any ideas?

No, seems those days are gone. If you have your own server or use an empty one, you might get close to having all your buddies on the same team.
 
After the patch, the game is now playable. I do still have annoying spikes still though. will go constant 90fps then spike down to 50 every 5 seconds.
 
I kinda broke even on the bad lag days ... but its picking up again!!! Just got me a 24 for 2 ... yeah!! I seem to be better in this than MW2 - or all the good guys I used to play against just made it seem like my play was too mediocre.
 
Assuming I can get a copy this evening after work I will be joining you guys soon :)

Assuming you are in JHB, zaps still have a couple of copies, but I am sure you will be able to get where ever you are.

Sigh. I have had it with this game. My ping is still on 700ms after the update.....it appeared to be fine this morning, but I guess it wasn't.

Both Cod4 and Modern Warfare 2 works fine with my Mweb account. .....................

Any ideas? Help will be appreciated.
 
Not sure what the prob could be especially if you are MWEB... A mate of mine is also still struggling...
 
Any recommendations: XP vs Win7?

Having Steam issues on my pc using XP, hangs my pc after Steam update...mouse moves but get no HDD activity and cant open taskman :/
