Official Black Ops Discussion Thread

OK, i have a slight issue. I've heard that a few people have had a similar issue. Just wanna know if anyone has fix or workaround. I have a 4MBs ADSL line and an afterhours uncapped account with Openweb. Now it seems for some reason when i play BO my TS3 drops and then BO disconnects. This happens more often that not, but is very frustrating. Also lately i go into a game and then suddenly I get a Steam Disconnect error. Anyone have any ideas?

I have recently had complete steam disconnects... goes off for a few seconds, then back on. I have not used TS3 for a while, but i do remember it doing the same to me a couple of weeks ago.


@Kyubi I can set my USB headset to run in Digital mode or analogue... cant remember which way round is best but one of them definitely sounded really bad vs the other ?!?

Yip. For some reasons, people don't use them and when they do, I don't have the class with ghost and even if I change and die, the other guys have destroyed it already. They are pretty easy to destroy for some reason. :(

Eish I had my first flawless game last night ... dunno why, but everything just went right. I'm on Prestige 3 lev 30 and this is the first time I setup a sniper class.... I pwned Jungle 29-0. Got a chopper gunner from a crate, I used after my attack chopper, and then I got another chopper gunner ...lol was fun!

Who here are going through all the prestige levels? I find level 1 - 30/40 goes relatively quickly but then it takes ages to get to 50... I am on prestige 7 and it feels like I won't make 15 before MW3 comes out! ;)
 
I leveled up very quick in the holidays but with work, its going to take me sometime to get to 15...I will make 15 before MW3 :)

I also levelled pretty quick while on leave. But the problem is now while back at work.... Maybe 3 hours of play a day? Takes LOOOONNNGGGG to level. Should also be there before mw3, but just not quick enough...
 
The quickest way to level up is to play nuketown demolition. Set up some cool kill streaks. One chopper, dogs, and rolling thunder or mortars... If you have both choppers they usually get shot down quite quickly these days, but the dogs work quite well and you are able to continue killing fairly easily while they are doing the same :D

But playing HCTDM will take you months to get to prestige 15. I'm on prestige 10 lvl 20 odd. code is on prestige 12, rebel is 11. But those guys pwn and do objectives... That's the other thing, don't bother levelling your perks. Just play with all of them... Set up 4 classes with the same weapons or different weapons and all different perks.. That helps. Once you can go pro, move on to the next perk... By the time you at level 50 you are going to lose all the pro's anyway...
 
Probably the quickest, but the most irritating! I hate the map/game mode combo!

The other thing is that the hardcore game players tend to camp more because it is easier to be killed, in normal game mode it is more difficult to kill someone, so they don't camp as much... But kill me more than once in the same position and I WILL come and find you :p

I will give this a try. I got my first 100 on Nuketown Demolition :D I dont really try to do objectives. I only play with a few guns and every prestige its the same perks.

I use the AK74u, AK47, Commando and L9A1 sniper rifle. I figured if I just played and stopped worried about getting to prestige 15, I would eventually get there by enjoying the game instead of worrying about prestiging. The gold guns are indeed awesome though :D


Edit: By the way how do those contracts work?
 
The contract work the same as the perks, you have a set target to meat to get the contract... You don't really get that much xp from them and I don't need the COD money, so I don't really bother with them.
 
Nice! Well done...

The contracts give cod points and some xp. Nothing big though. You just have to complete the objective in the allotted time. Ie domination madness - complete 2 victories in domination game mode in 40 minutes game time. Headshot - get 5 headshots in 5 minutes of game time.

You either complete it or you don't and if you complete it you earn your cod points and xp, if you don't, you lose the cod points that you spent to buy it.

There are challenges for gametypes, guns and expertise (headshots, longshots etc) That about sums it up :)
 
So, I phoned the guys at computersonly, as they are around the corner from where I live and asked them which one they would suggest...

They have both on their website: Roccat Kave @ R900 and G35 @ R1200.

They said Kave and they should be getting in today still... New mouse and headset in the new year. :D

FYI, I am also looking at getting the Asus Xonar DG sound card, as I am not a fan of using expensive "speakers" with onboard sound cards.
 
i play mostly, dem on nukedem recruiting server(its nukedtown only ,non hardcore,DEM), insane amount of exp, and pretty fun at times.

if you in that chopper with minigun it is fun!!

ya cant wait for crysis 2 also :)
pity s.a don't get special nano edition :(

Enjoy bud!!

I have Roccats with Asus Xonar DX and they are awesome!!!!! It will be much more awesome with the DG. I paid the same price for my Roccats from Computers only
