Official Currie Cup Thread 2012

On reflection:

WP are understandably hungry for real silverware in their cabinet. They haven't seen any in a long while. Their biggest challenge right now is changing their game plan to suit a highveld (altitude) onslaught. I think they can do it so I am going to have to agree with Kopite on that Lions 40 - WP 60 split.

Bulls are not a Currie Cup bogey side for sharks at home. The last time the bulls won a currie cup encounter at the tank (if memory serves me right) was 2006. So, to change that momentum is a big cal but I do believe they can do it. That said, their returning boks have the shame of a poor tour. This could affect their backline play, and the sharks will play into this. Their frontline will be similarly affected, so we have a clash of bulls front vs sharks backs, where lambie will be desperate to shine, given his snub during the tour. I'd go Bulls 49 Sharks 51 split on this game, so same as Kopite with just a little home side favour.

Great looking team that. Really pleased to see Tim Whitehead back. And Tendai Mtawarira on the bench? Regardless that's a strong bench.

Promotion/relegation game tonight - Cheetahs vs EP Kings - prediction Cheetahs by at least 15 points

Not much though, I stand by my belief that they will get murdered next year and that they should have had CC exposure first.
