Official EPL 2015 Summer Transfers and Rumours

Manchester City are delighted to announce Raheem Sterling has joined the Club on a five-year deal.

The 20-year-old England international's transfer is a record fee for an English player and he also becomes City’s record signing.

Sterling, who will fly out to meet his new team-mates in Australia within the next 24 hours, will wear the No.7 shirt.

A versatile, attacking midfielder, Sterling began his career at Queens Park Rangers before joining Liverpool as a 15-year-old in 2010 for an initial fee of £600,000.

He made his debut aged 17 against Wigan Athletic in 2012 and went on to make 129 appearances for the Reds, scoring 23 goals.

In 2014 he became only the second English player to win the Golden Boy award – an honour bestowed by European sports journalists on the Under-21 player who has had the most impressive season – with previous winners including Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, Isco and Paul Pogba.

Not sure about that.
He is now on a five-year contract earning at least £160,000-a-week - plus appearance and goal bonuses.
 
How are City not falling foul of fair play rules with their huge salaries and over paying for players?
 
Way over the top for Sterling but the market has gone crazy.

Doudt it currently city has a bigger chance of silverware then lfc so in terms of career it makes sense.

FFP was relaxed to a certain extent, they have 'sponsors' that funnel money into the City coffers, and they also sell when they need to buy. Think they just picked up a hefty sum for Negredo from poor Valencia.

Also a few players have come out and said they didn't like the way they were treated in terms of contracts and promises from the club, so I'm sure that there's less negative feeling from people for Sterling than if it wasn't that way.

Besides which, if he plays well for them no one is going to give a **** how he acted now.

city over liverpool is a no brainer if you are not a fan, which most players are not.

just like players would leave arsenal for barca.
