Official Google Nexus 7 Thread

Once mine started shaking violently, as if it was receiving touch inputs from all over. I had to hold the power button in to reset it, then it stopped jittering. Only happened once, though. Warranty?

Won it in a MyBB comp in 2013. Not a big issue and have the Hauwei as a spare.

Also now experiencing massive slowdown and battery drain on stock Nexus 7 2012 3G/Wifi with 5.0.2, even after restart cache wipe. Unusable for now :( Sucky, Google!

Did a factory reset just before I upgraded to 5.1. After the update things are fairly smooth, but on the contrary, hardly anything has been installed. (2012 Nexus 7)

Android 5.1 has been downloaded on my Nexus 7 2012 Wifi & 3G, going to install within the next few minutes and give feedback on any improvements

Strongly considering taking my Nexus 7 2012 3G back to Kitkat 4.4.4. Have Lollipop 5.1 installed and running choppy, even after a factory reset.

I think a prefer a stable, lag free tablet instead of the latest software.

Yeah, the N7 doesn't seem to run well at all on Lollipop even after the 5.1 update

The performance of my Nexus 7 2012 Wifi/3G after upgrading to 5.0.2 and 5.1 was terrible. I tracked it down to an experimental setting in Twilight. Seems to be much better after disabling the setting.

Reloaded Kitkat 4.4.4. Feels like I have a new tablet and I can really enjoy it again.

Also don't think lollipop is designed for the Nexus 7 2012.

I also went back to 4.4.4 as Lollipop was irking me.

Disabled the Google Services Framework to stop the update notification from bugging me and all is well in NexusLand again :)

I'm going to try a Factory Reset and then a Hard Reset first...
I used the official Google method which involves unlocking the boot loader, flashing the 4.4.4 image (this wipes the tablet so backup your data) and relocking the boot loader again.

I speak under correction (posting from tab) but the site I used was https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images, and I used Minimal ADB and Fastboot to flash the files (available on XDA-Developers).

Because this is a Google Nexus product you are able to relock the bootloader which means they would probably honour your warranty if you sent it back with a relocked bootloader

So far so good. On CleanRom 6.0 with ElementalX 4.01 Kernal.

Fantastic battery, smooth as silk and double tap to wake with sweep to sleep :D
