Why? Their service is awful, their shop assistents clueless - they don't even know the most basic information about the (very limited veriety of) hardware they sell. Their tethers trigger the alams constantly and they always leave them ringing for ever, making it a truly unpleasant place to be. Reminds me of incredible Connection, coming to think of it.

The only reason I went there is because they were the only shop in the area that had the 16GB Nexus 7 in stock.

I guess it just brings back memories of me being in the UK. And at the time I was in a seriously small town so the site of a technology / gadget shop was priceless. :p

I didnt exactly say i would be going to the nexus, i asked when/if it would be here so i could consider it as a replacement.. Maybe you think an android tablet is a downgrade, but also maybe im tired of apple deciding things for me?. Why supply a tablet with 3G and not allow it to download apps over 50MB or do icloud backups, or system updates.. which is really counter productive to cloud computing, since not everyone is near wifi 24/7
 
Gah. I keep checking for updates, and doing the Google Services Framework trick, and I'm just not getting the OTA. Why? Whhhyyyy?

R3400 for 32gig from Incredible connection, will be available from end November.
Will be cheaper from other places then.

I tried this twice before it worked
Now have JB 4.2 on my Nexus 7, but it broke Apex Launcher, waiting for a fix :-(

"First turn off Wi-Fi, then go to the Apps list in Settings, select Google Services Framework under the All column, clear the cache, and tap "Force stop." After that, turn Wi-Fi back on again, go to System updates in the About tablet under Settings, and you should be given the option to download the update.

Confirmed. Worked for me.
 
Mine is now downloading Android 4.2. It's a 80.6MB download. The trick is to hit "clear data", not "clear cache". The Verge has got it the wrong way around.

funny thing is I tried that earlier at work and it didnt update then...
