OFFICIAL HTC Desire Thread

Does anyone know if the official working Froyo 2.2 ROM is out for the desire yet? If so please can someone point us in the right direction to find it :)

Thanx... :) my nerves, im just impatient, coz everyones updating their iPhones... and here we are waiting for 2.2 to be dished out :D

I suppose let the appleboys gloat a bit, as they say Good things come to those who wait, maybe they add a few surprises in the package that outclasses the 4g anyways LOL
 
Ja let them get excited about multitasking, I mean - just imagine if could have multitasking on android!! Wait a minute...

Lol, we wont ever see the EVO here unless someone starts up a CDMA cellular network. I'm pretty sure HTC has some awesome GSM android phones in the pipeline, I doubt the iPhone 4 will be big news for very long.
 
Looks like it will be soonish, just have to wait for HTC to implement Sense on top of it

What about Telkom being the new cellular provider for south africa, they do wimax... LOL people would be really stupid to sign up with them, even if they pretend to provide good service initially, then become their same old self we all know... Down Down Down Down :D
 
hey guys,

Im having a bit of a problem regarding internal storage on my desire...I cant understand why I only have 14mb of storage left when I have only a handful of app's installed (excluding pre-installed ones)
I have the low storage Icon in the notification area.I Assume im accumulating data somehow without my knowledge.Here are the app's I have installed :

Abduction!
Air horn
Barcode Scanner
ES File Explorer
FxCamera
Goal.com
Google Sky Map
Mxit
Google Navigation
NeSoid Lite
News24
Paper Toss
PicSay
RingDroid
Shazam
SNeSoid Lite
SpeedTest
GameBoid Lite
Twitter for Android
Unit Converter

These App's cant surely total more than 40mb.
If anybody has a solution or how I can improve internal storage it will be much appreciated

Some apps can be much bigger than others, but also you may want to look at your cache, and maybe clear them, gallery, google maps, internet, emails... etc all use different caches, and this may be filling up your memory. That is why we all waiting patiently for 2.2 update with sense where we can install apps 2 SD, BTW if you root your fone you can install apps2SD, but you do void your warranty. I have rooted my fone and yet i still have to clear cache sometimes
 
Im pissed off with my phone. Ever since i installed handcent SMS my vibrate function doesnt work when i recieve an SMS. I've uninstalled handcent and still nothing :(

have a look at the apps you installed on the fone, install appbrain, and that will allow you to view all the installed apps from the appbrain website, you may find it may be a conflicting app, or maybe the vibrtion feature was turned off in some way fr sms, mine works fine, also before you install any apps, check the comments from other people, and see if there are known bugs before you install :)

Had a similar problem and had to enable Vibrate on Notification using an app called "Sound Manager" by Daniel Roozen, it's free and available on market. Once you have installed Sound Manage open it and press menu, then select Vibrate Settings.
 
A quick one, has anyone had an issue where the gTalk (Talk App as such) messages or sms' do not stack correctly? i.e. I say something then directly below that a friend replies that is what I mean by stack. But in my case it collects like 5 of things I have said and groups them then groups the 5 responses together. So the conversation doesn't seem to flow.

(e.g.
Losticus: Hey
Losticus: Good and You?
Losticus: Wow it looks like im talking to myself
Friend: How are you?
Friend: Good.
Friend: LOL - Android Fail )


It really does look like I'm talking to myself :wtf:
 
Does anyone know where to get a good price on Class 4 or 6 MicroSD cards in SA? Sandisk preferably
