i dont think its hard to get the One in SA..it's our SP's ...and HTC never had a good selling point in our country ..

And for that reason we HTC users have the aforementioned issue .

This is strue. And supply issues didn't help either.
Regardless, I wouldn't expect the Desire 600 being in SA in the next 6 months

What is also strange is that there is absolutely NO advertising from HTC’s side. They used to have a shop at Vodaworld, but that closed down a while ago. So you will probably only have the well informed that really knows how good the HTC One is.

They have a brilliant device on their hands. I will make sure that everyone I know, who is looking for an upgrade, will at least enquire about the HTC One.

They advertise quite a bit in the States and the UK but not here...
I don't know if they think Africa is poor or what but they would have a bigger following if every person you came across didn't go "HT Who?"

Like i said earlier ,HTC never sell that great ,that is why our SP's have limited variety and stock ..

Now with the HTC One that came out they probably thought it's just another HTC model that wont sell ..SURPRISE!! Its a better phone than the S4 and everyone want's it...bwa bwa bwaaaaaa SA once again tells it's consumers "eish i do not know"

Wake up and get the phone SP's!!! still not to late

Exactly. That's what Samsung started doing a few years ago. Making sure that everyone in "developing" countries knows what they offer.

i've asked about that, their answer was "HTC does not sell that great so we rather put Samsung ,nokia or LG banners in our stores "

and now?and now? HTC made the game changing device and still they dont want to stock it or advertise it ...

It's a catch 22 really... SP's don't want to stock hardware that's gonna sit on their shelves for months.
Consumers don't HTC cos they don't know who the hell they are and so the SP's don't stock it blah blah and so the vicious cycle goes.

Samsung, like MonkeysUncle rightfully said, spend huge amounts on advertising so everyone knows who they are and when they release a new model, they sell in droves.

So yeah, I still blame HTC for this :-/

Finally got my phone ! Wow.what an experience from an IPhone.Just need to find a cool case now.

:)

Very nice! Seems more and more people have and are getting the device..so i think SP'S are getting their stock right ..

Which SP did you get it from and price?

Got my HTC one yesterday, it is one awesome phone for those of you waiting for it, I have switched between iOS and Android over the years and this is the most 'complete' offering yet from HTC / Google, an interesting read below if you have the time....all subjective of course but it held true for me after I had read it, packed away the HTC earlier this morning and took my iPhone back out.

I ordered a case for a HTC One from Amazon that should be coming in about 1.5 weeks, if anyone is interested in buying it off me let me know.

I am couriering it in with 2 other guys so expect it to cost me with shipping around R250

I dont think there are any cases in SA, when I asked the guy @ Cellucity the bloke laughed and said he doubts they will ever get.

:) I would if I could....

It is an upgrade done on a work contract so it will be going back there, the shame of it is that it will be used as a spare and be totally unappreciated by anyone who happens to use it.

Voda must have stock now because it was delivered yesterday morning to me direct
