Wow. Really? Been calling head office and they say they don't know when stock is coming in. I'm on waiting list for HTC One on Voda contract via AutoPage. Do you know which branch has stock?

Lucky, eventually got through to retention dept. They told me they don't do pre-orders on devices and I need to visit a shop. Shops have no clue what I'm on about. -_-

Starting to really get gatvol of this. Seems to be a select few people at MTN who actually know the phone exist.

Ye I asked for the One as well and said, not the One X ... the new HTC One. Lady just kept telling me "sorry sir, we don't handle pre-orders on devices" and proceeded to give the number for the store closest to me, who as I expected didn't know wtf I was talking about ... "The HTC One, what is that? We have the One X, but you should get a S4, it's the best phone on the market now." -_-

Good luck and hope you get your phone, I'm stuck I guess to wait it out, probably not get stock, and just telling them to shove their renewal of contract up their bums the end of next month.

i had exactly the same exp ... first they say sorry sir we dont do pre-orders, they gave me a number for
a store that was close to me and they person in store knew absolute jack about the HTC one! Sigh

MTN

I've been calling MTN over the last week. Their story has seemed to change quite drastically. All 4 of the consultants I spoke to said that they are not able to do any pre-orders on this device. Also they have no idea when the stock is due. The one consultant said something about 3 weeks from now. I smell something fishy. Surprisingly Altec pulled the device from their website... Does this mean they will no longer be supplying it?

I also just got off the phone with Nashua Mobile, and according to their consultant, MTN and CellC will not be offering the HTC One in the near future due to supply problems. No mention of Vodacom. Maybe they are just trying to sell me another make of phone/Vodacom as service provider or there might be something to this......

I've waited two months and now we are faced with the possibility of no stock until a much later date. Could have got the S4 on release day, now I'm sitting here considering the S4 again but which the frustration that I could have had a phone 2 months ago :-/
 
I am only waiting till end of this month. Already starting pros and cons list for Samsung S4 and Sony Xperia Z :D.

Not very optimistic that we will be getting the HTC One within the next 2 months :(.

I tried something today,took a friends phone (vodacom) got to MTN rentention department,and the lady asked me do i have a MTN contract ?i lied and said no...so she said how can she assist me?i asked her if you are getting the HTC One i would like to open a contract with you guys ,she answerd"sorry sir we dont have the phone and dont know when we will be recieving stock" so asked could the place me on pre order?"sorry we dont do pre orders"..

So 5mins after that i phoned again,but from my mtn number..gave my number and password ,and asked again if i am on the pre order list still for the htc one.."yes sir seems there is a note on your account for the HTC One"

So i dont know if their only picking one or two people in line for this phone or what,but everytime i ask they say i am on the list..
 
I got a response from HTC re: query about other service providers offering HTC One. Maybe HTC is doing an Xbox and making it a timed exlcusive :D

Spoke to some guys from Nashua Mobile now and he says HTC is discontinuing the device, this after they did my upgrade to the HTC One last week. I was like WTF, where did u get this from? He says they received a mail. They can provide me with an alternative.... Galaxy S4. Ek strip my moer!!!!!
