YOU DO NOT NEED S-OFF TO FLASH A CUSTOM ROM! Just go to the xda and see the links for the HTC One, I rooted and unlocked bootloader months ago and have flashed many ROMs but I only got S-OFF last week, and I only did it to get a nice custom hboot screen.
As long as the update zip file is for HTC_016 (Our SA HTC One) you don't need s-off to flash it, it's only if you want to flash update zip from a non HTC_016 HTC One that you'll need s-off. But since our HTC One is part of the International group (World Wide English) the HTC_016 is covered by the update zips. Just unlock bootloader, install recovery and flash your custom ROM zip and enjoy.

I think this may be correct. I've unlocked my bootloader, installed TWRP recovery, and flashed with SuperSU to root the phone. I'm just waiting for the phone to fully charge before I try to install the 4.3 sense 5.5 ROM. I'll see if what I've done is enough to flash the update found below (without having to s-ff).

I think I won't go the Google Edition way right now because I like my blinkfeeds and Zoe in Sense.
Greetings all!
4.4 Dropped. My OTA worked flawlessly.
Hey Guys, just thought I'd share my experience with Regenersis.
Couple threads back I mentioned I was happened the purple camera issue with my One. So i decided before 6 months are up let me sort it out. My contract is with MTN but I decided to avoid the middle man and go directly to Regenersis.
So I called Regenersis about 2 weeks ago and they said cool, but don't bring it now, as they're still waiting for stock, call back in a week. So after calling a few times. I took my phone in the day after Regenersis got stock (Monday). So I went yesterday during my lunch break, and left the phone there, got back to work and 2 hours later got and email saying my phone is ready for collection.
SO called Regenersis to check if anything was done, or if they just couldn't see anything wrong and they giving my phone back, guys say I'm getting a brand new handset. YAY! Will pick up the phone later this afternoon. Just home the camera on this one is fine.
So well done Regenersis and I'd just like to let you guys that they're a pleasure to deal with.
Hi,
How did you get into contact with Regenersis? I have had my HTC One for about 4 months now (Through MTN), and since the day I opened it I could see it suffered from some of the poor build quality issues.
I want to take it in and see if they can replace the unit for me.
So I just picked up my new phone, camera is 100% so far, lets hope it stays that way.
I got to work, connected to W-Fi and guess what... 4.3 and Sense 5.5 update is available via OTA...![]()
this makes no sense ? im with MTN to and no update available
Thinking of taking in my phone as well, purple camera and power button getting flush with the body.
I'm on Cell C, took the phone with MTN though
So if I put a cell C sim in my phone I should be able to update?
lol im thinking the same thing
Must go get micro Cell C sim this weekend![]()
let us know how that works out ... i really hope it works :}
