Know how you feel :( If it does actually come end July I will be happy. Least they get it. Been due for upgrade since January and have been holding our for this. If not by Aug, then either S4 or Vodacom. Either alternate choice not really grabbing me.

going for the S4 is not a option for me! :) samsung will never see my money..Pay so much and get a dinky toy full of tricks ?! no thank you!

Going to Vodacom will be my alternative ..

Just got the call.. i should expect delivery next week :-D..... cant wait!

Now i can join in and discuss phone cases :-P

How the hell does it take 6 weeks :/ ..damn MTN! HTC is probably sending the device with a build it yourself manual .in that case it could take those fools over a year to assemble the device :p
 
I got the HTC flip case from Orange. Seems great - no problems in any respect.

I bought a few off ebay as well. Shipping was free on all of them. Although the shipping time ranges from 2-3 weeks. if u want registered shipping like DHL, it is much more. Usually more than the case. I ordered yesterday from the orange site and is is already shipped and will be delivered tomorrow or Monday with DHL.
 
Check out the response received from MTN regarding the HTC One:

Kindly note that the HTC One would have been available as of the end of July, as per our procurement team. However, we have received communication regarding a 5 to 6 week delay on the arrival of this handset. We understand the frustration you feel and assure you that we are as anxious as you are and that the matter is being monitored.

We sincerely hope that the above is in order and that we are able to restore your faith in us.

another reason i decided to go with Vodacom is cause my apartment appears to be in a MTN dead spot, while my brother (Vodacom) gets full bars all the time.

Those 3 beeps ported numbers get puts me off porting :) But yes, porting seems to be the best option as I am not a huge fan of the S4. Although you do get 2 screen replacements under the warranty. But that just in itself smells like a confession. Have dropped my Desire HD many times onto tiles, road etc and its still going strong.
