How sad is it that Vodacom is taking its sweet time to release the 4.2.2 update? :banghead:

well as soon as a WWE version is out I will download and flash why wait for Vodacom

Guys the people at Autopage say that they dont offer the One on Cells 100 !!! :( damn
But they have it on their website

So it seems most of the people on this thread got their HTC One and hasn't bothered to visit us without one :p joke

Thoughts on the One? Great phone over all.. Summary

Positive -
1.Feels and looks great
2.Great screen
3. Sense 5 is brilliant, I have a Nexus 4 and I'm not really missing stock android much.. What I love most is the app switching UI which is similar to that on the Nokia N9.
4. Camera shutter speed and colour reproduction
5. Headphone and speaker sound quality - the bass on the standard headphones is insane!
6. Snappy even when in CPU power saving mode

Negatives
1.Build finish - I have gaps and an out of shape sim tray
2. For South Africans the lack of accessories sucks.
3. Regenisis, the HTC Repair agents have no spares now ( not really a negative of the phone but yeah)
4. 4mp just isn't enough unless you don't plan to zoom in on any of your photos, but hey, they look great in full HD. Camera focus is also a little soft I found. Tip :Want better pics? Play with the exposure settings, makes a massive difference.
5. The time to charge fully is disgusting, around 3.75 hours, it's LONG! I came from the Nexus 4, but man, iPhone users will flip when they realise how long it needs to charge compared to their old phones.
6. The stock IR app doesn't work in SA.
7. The power button is too damn high. Needed to be on the right mid way down similar to Samsung phones.
8. Can get slightly warm ( nice in winter though :p )

But yeah great phone guys, definitely worth it, just make sure your unit is perfect cosmetically before leaving the shop you're going to! :D

Agree with positive points above. Love the Zoe feature!
Fortunately I don't have a problem with the build quality. The important part of the stock IR app does work: it can control my TV & sound system. It doesn't support the TV guide feature.
Missing the 4.2.2 quick toggles though. Come on Vodacom, release the update already!

How do I get it to work?

The One mini, besides the display, build, and speakers is all types of fail. Tiny battery, no Optical Image Stabilisation, no nfc, low clocked CPU, only 1gb of ram ( very ominous signs regard future updates, remember the One V?), no SD and only a 16gb version?. The only thing it has over the S4 Mini is the 720p vs qhd display and of course, Sense 5. With HTC struggling to get HTC One stock for SA, no carrier support, and no marketing budget, I can't see any way this is getting to South Africa :-(

Then again the S4 is "faster" than the One,but the one preforms better ?

Would you pay anything above 5grand and get a plastic toy looking phone?or have something that looks and feels premium?

i agree on the lack of support in SA and HTC,sucks !! but if vodafone is getting it in the UK then I'm 80% sure SA will see it stocked at Vodacom
