Official HTC One thread

Must say,in the beginning the loudness and Beats make this thing sound like a beast,BUT :/ ...3am in the morning when some drunk fool tries to phone his friends sets off your phone...."beast of a sound" makes you jump quit high :S

I'd love another HTC, but the One is way out of my price range. If the One S were still around, I'd get that, or the Desire 500 if it gets here before December.
 
Finally...after all these weeks I finally got through to MTN retentions and spoke to someone competent. My upgrade has been processed and I'll receive my HTC One in 3-5 working days!

I’m so excited now, the long wait will soon be over and I’ll have my precious in my hands :)

Thanks so much to Nismo who helped me get in touch with the right people at MTN.

Haha damn yeah you waited for some time! But hey gratz man :D Glad you'll be joining the group soon :) THE HTC ONE GROUP..Its where all the cool kids are :p
 
Still have the One X, but have persuaded 2 colleagues to get the Htc One.
I installed my Analog Clocks on one of them, and they do look good.

Cant stand that power button and hissing sound when recording
 
I am over the moon! Against all hopes and expectations, my One was delivered today (after upgrading yesterday).
I'm still miffed with MTN but this has gone a long way to offset that.

It is sooo pretty and feels amazing and light in my hand. Did a quick inspection and there's no gaps in the case and the power button sits properly, no funny noises when tapping the case by the camera - so I think I'm in the clear!

Can't wait to start playing with this beast of a phone!! *does happy dance*

They have a time limit when it comes to warranty assessments,2 Weeks max then they have to give you an answer,either a new One or a phone at the same price range.. Mine has been in since last week Thursday ,so will see how true this is :)

Well MTN just phone :) ..Warranty Assessment went through ..

So would i like the HTC One or the S4 or iPhone..i Asked her "did you just ask me if i want a dinky toy iPhone with a child size screen?" So she says"oky i'm assuming we're sticking with the HTC One" Yes please :) ..

So yeah what i'm trying to say here is that it took a week for warranty assessment to approve and send out a new one ..Not bad!

Will still be checking the imei number :p just to be sure it is brand new ..

What was the reason for you to return your phone?
and wasnt your 7 day exchange period over already?

I had that loose parts sound around the camera at the back when you tap around it,nothing was actually wrong with it,everything worked just fine its just i didnt like the sound :p haha..

If something is wrong with you device-HTC One- you can claim warranty assessment on it under 6months and get a brand new HTC One :)
 
@djbrendan: Let us know if the new one has that noise. I thought it was standard after googling it. Didn't even notice the noise on my old Desire HD until you mentioned it here. My One also has it but because my Desire HD had it, I'm not too fazed. Everything works fine so figured it's a design issue. Apparently its the autofocus.

Where are you going to exchange it?
I gave mine in on Tuesday for the power button and still waiting for replacement.

They dont have the ONE in stock at Brooklyn Service Centre

already sent mine in,been 7 days when she phoned me back to say which device do i want? so she ordered my HTC One and it's on it's way to George..

Think she ordered it from CPT..

Lol yeah googled it after i sent it to them and many many blogs say it's the auto focus ..

Dcv please try the following, on the home screen turn your phone around and tap it,you will hear this noise?!

Now go in to your camera app,as if you were to take a video or picture,while in the camera app turn it around and tap now..apparently the noise should be gone or a lot softer when the camera is focusing.. :/ design flaw

I get it when camera is off. Tried for the first time now with camera on and it seemed to be gone. Checked some other peoples' smart phones here at work (iPhone 5 and S3) and they also had a rattle to varying degrees. Unless i tap my phone by the camera I dont notice this noise at all. Also didnt for 2 years with old phone til you mentioned it a while ago (damn you!!) :) Will be interested to see if some dont have it though. But unless something is going to break down the line, think i will try looking past it. Waited too long to get my hands on it.
