Official HTC One thread

I just S-OFF'd my device and converted it to the Google Play Edition in anticipation of Android L. If it sucks I'll put the Sense version back on.
 
Getting a M7 from someone tomorrow(got bored of my s4). Where would be the best place to get the latest guides on rooting/firmware..

And do you guys prefer Google play/aosp or sense?

I quite enjoy sense. Haven't tried the other stuff though

I have not had the urge to root my phone and install something else since getting this phone. Sense is really good, but I usually install Nova Launcher with a nice icon pack as well.
 
Keen on this phone. a few questions:

1. Except orange.co.za anywhere else you can buy it for cash?
2. Where can I see one of them, no one has them on display
3. What warranty does it have?
 
I've had this phone (M7) since it was first released. The first one to be sold from Vodacom Gateway in Umhlanga. I was there for work, called them up and asked them to keep me one. No one else even knew about it. In all this time I can honestly say it's amazing. I still don't see a reason to upgrade. What an amazing piece of kit.
 
I am really enjoying this phone after getting it unlocked and putting on a custom OS and kernel. Love the simple things like tap to wake like on the LG and the various swipes that can be used in the OS now.
Battery life has been good as well. Still very hard to get any accessories (especially since there is a SAPO Strike)

+100. True. I wonder what the m9 will be like though. That should be interesting.
 
Has anyone had any experience swithing from an iPhone to Android. I ordered a HTC one M8 and its going to arrive some time this week. Anyone know how to transfer contacts etc?

HTCs sync manager has a feature specifically for this:
