I don't think it matters who we play in the QFs to be honest. Proteas are perfectly capable of beating anyone. The problm is that I don't think on the day we can do it.Does it suit SA from a playoff perspective to win the pool?
I still believe pool A is likely to be NZ, Aus, SL, England... So either SL or England the quarters?! Neither here nor there. SL in Sydney would be sweet.
Edit: we would want to avoid NZ and Aus at all costs though. In quarters.
You trying hard for a wicket.
Got any better ideas. Jinxing is my threshold.![]()
Finished putting up the tent, now setting up camp chairs.May ZCFOutkast leave this thread soon!
There's quite a few players saying goodbye to cricket and all of them want to leave a lasting impression (Afridi, Dhoni, Misbah, Mahela, Dilshan, Sanga etc). Dhoni's one of them so he won't mess things up easily! I reckon if Steyn already had 200 wicekts he'd be saying bye too.Game over. Dhoni is one of the most accomplished finishers in the game. It's okay though. Aus must just win their last 2 games and we will avoid playing them in the quarters.
Just look at how ALL the teams have managed to show some fight at some point in this tournament. We haven't shown it in the pools so far, and I don't think we will show it when the pressure comes.
46 extras in this game so far !!!! West Indies must bowl Jerome Taylor NOW if they are a chance to win, not spin...
Besides @MClarke23 Brendan Mcullum & Dhoni the Captaincy in this World Cup has been ordinary & really disappointing.....
Well done India!9.45pm That's India's eighth win in a row in World Cup matches. It equals their previous longest World Cup winning streak, achieved in 2003.
Bizarre captaincy by Holder.
Windies need wickets and he brings on Samuels and Dwayne Smith to bowl.
To some extent, but not when part-timers bowl 15 overs in a match where Steyn fetches at over 7rpo.I would count being 80-odd/4 and getting to 339/4 showing some fight.
