Official ICC 2015 CWC thread

Indians have done a good job of drying up the runs and creating pressure :(

Yeah. Might as well do some work now...the end is nigh. Hopefully Shakib can delay the inevitable.

Damn, was hoping for an upset.

Will officially close the stream and the cricinfo feed if (or when) Shakib gets out.

I hear you. I am with you on this.

Just cannot bear to see the Tigers go down and out. They have played with heart to force themselves a place in the finals. Kudos to the lads. Kudos!

Jadeja to Shakib Al Hasan, OUT, cut straight to short third man, couldn't have been an easier wicket! There was room, there was time, but there was short third man too! Shakib went on the back foot and sliced the ball from well outside off straight to Shami

Shakib Al Hasan c Mohammed Shami b Jadeja 10 (34b 0x4 0x6) SR: 29.41

Meh...

This is going the same way as the game we had against India.

The Tigers have shown they're not minnows anymore, they're at least better than England and the West Indies these days.
They're probably where Sri Lanka were back in the early 1990's.

Agree 100%. Now what if other teams like Ireland, Afghanistan, Netherlands and others were given similar chance to play against the top 8 more frequently. For me, it is a dream to see up 20 teams fighting for the trophy on an equal footing. Given opportunity they can step up.

Cheers you all. I am going bow out now. See ya tomorrow. :)

+1 That would be amazing for the game of cricket.

New stars would shine on the world stage, as long as they're given fair opportunity between world cups.

The West Indies for all their ups and downs are still in the world cup, bangladesh and england aren't...

Also its foolish comparing sri lanka 1996 to bangladesh 2015. I do not see a murali in that bangladesh side not even close nor do I see jaysuriya, vaas or aravinda da silva. That sri lanka side had some real special players in it. They also changed the ways odi's would be played forever with their approach in the first 15 overs, not seen any special innovation from bangladesh.

Bangladesh have had a decent world cup but they had one in 2007 as well and then did nothing.

Just looking at battings stats and AB has an average of 83.4 @144.2 Strike rate. No one from the teams still in the competition comes even close.
