I'm happy for New Zealand and hope they go through to win it.

But people are hurting. Let them vent and grieve, whoever they may blame. The only fair weather fans are those saying chokers.

It's not our time yet, but we have made massive progress in our approach to tournaments...

Only idiots use that word.

We have consistently been one of the best teams in the world, we win series and have beaten all of the best teams.
We haven't won the world cup, thats one competition that happens once every 4 years...

At the end of the day, I don't have a problem with the term when it's used in its correct context. Which f**ks me off royally when it gets thrown around after a game like this.

Still, what's done is done. Anyone know where the next one is being hosted?

South Africa captain AB de Villiers (65 not out) and Faf du Plessis (82) had shared a fourth-wicket partnership of 103 from 73 balls to power their team to an imposing 281 for five in 43 overs after almost two hours of play was lost due to the rain.

New Zealand were set a revised target of 298 under the Duckworth-Lewis method and while Brendon McCullum got them away to a flying start with 59, they struggled to keep pace before the crucial fifth-wicket partnership.
it's bloody criminal!

The ODI rules changed for this CWC and we see that teams are now launching much, much harder in the final 15 overs.

Our opening bowlers cost us the semi final. Finish and klaar. Steyn went for 11.5 an over and Phillander over 9. That is simply just not good enough. Abbott should have played and not Vern. I seriously hope this is the end of the Steyn/ Morkel era, they have been embarrasing in ODI' s of late.

I'm actually thinking in the past Steyn was at his deadliest with the reverse swing at the back end of the innings and could easily mop up the middle order batsmen then. This two new balls rule in this tournament effectively mean his reverse swing weapon has been rendered null,so unless they change the rules Steyn just isn't going to cut it in one dayers,as for Morkel he bowled much better than his stats show and he kept the pressure on the batsmen up front very well.

I would say he had a much better tournament than his stats show, something I would say Wahab Riaz showed very well in his last game where his stats weren't brilliant but his actual bowling certainly was master class.

Well, I'm still proud of the guys. :)

People forget that McCullum did the exact same thing against tha Aussies, with 50 off 18 balls, and he's done similar damage for the last couple of years against other teams.
Just our luck.
The bowling was actually pretty good once he was gone.

As for the dumass useless moronic gutless douchebags calling our team chokers, well whatever...

Let it go...we had plenty of runs in the bag. We just weren't good enough in the field...Duckworth-Lewis gave us almost 7 runs an over to defend and we didn't do a good job. Duckworth-Lewis did not screw us (and never has).

2 new balls has been around since 2012-ish? The rest of your point stands to reason.

You can see they really wanted to do well but with all the fumbling unfortunately they lost the game NZ did not win it.

Scandalous! We have some of the best facilities and decks in the world! Not to mention SA in the Summer? Freakin no brainer. But like you say, the ICC (Indian Cricket Council) and the ECB now make the rules.

2023 will be the 13th WC.
England will have hosted 5
India 4
Aus 2

So I guess 2027 will go to Aus again.
