If India beat Aus, there'll be 2 teams in the final trying to complete a hatrick against the best teams in the competition (NZ beat Aus, SA - India beat SA and would have beaten Aus).

This really is an outstanding tournament.

As for the dumass useless moronic gutless douchebags calling our team chokers, well whatever...

Well the term choker in this context is actually a compliment too.

It is typically used for a good team, just with a little stage fright in some of the really big games.

A very big factor, apart from the rain, is the Eden Park ground. It was obvious that SA had no idea how to defend the small boundaries. On the other hand NZ knows exactly how to play on the ground. A delivery that would have been either a dot or a single now suddenly is a boundary. A slower ball bouncer that would have been caught in the deep is a six. Must cause havoc for a bowler and captain not used to it.

They are chokers, plain and simple.

We are a nation that prides itself on fielding. We were beasts against Sri Lanka in the field and again today, UNTIL it came down to big-boy time, then the errors came in. No two ways about that.

But, I'll continue to support them like I did after The Runout and just like I did after the maths fail in 2003.

Urghhh, I feel so grumpy and tired... but gotta say I saw the heart the boys played with there at the end. Ye some missed chances, but that's the game I guess, was perhaps just to over eager, they gave their all... Proud Protea supporter!!

Congratz to NZ, chasing that was a phenomenal effort.... personally I feel the rain did break our momentum and we could have taken the game away from them completely, but one would think 298 should have been enough as well... well done black caps.

You will have my support come sunday.

Still haven't calmed down. So angry and dissapointed in some of our players.

Of all games Steyn has to choose today to bowl one of the worst spell of bowling in his career.

I really wan't Donald to **** off asap. Our bowling has become progressively worse the longer he's been in charge.

What's wrong with bowling line and length trying to keep it tight? Why do we always look for the short ball? Even AB tried bowling short and got smacked for 2 sixes. I just don't get the reason behind it. Steyn was bowling a few good full/yorkers in his last 2 overs then bangs it in short and Elliot hits him for a six.

I know our batting didn't cost us the game but what's happened to Amla? He's been dreadfull in all the big games. In every World Cup our best players turn to ****.

Edit:How many times did Philander bowl a good over just keeping it simple then proceed to **** it up bowling short??

Infuriating.

We need to identify new strike bowlers in the 50-over game and we damn well better find a true all-rounder. A proper 7 that can take batting pressure off of Vern and who will ensure that we don't need more than 5-overs from JP.

Don't go get a hangover before the weekend now heh. And there's still good cricket to look forward to, even if it's not us playing ;)

I don't think there is a 3rd and 4th playoff (at least I don't find any fixtures on any sites stating as such). At this point, I think it would be the last thing that SA would want anyway...

There's no such thing as a 3rd place play-off in a cricket world cup.

You look at it from the wrong perspective. NZ's batsmen did a brilliant job, far easier to swallow when you come to terms with that fact :)

lol, right. That's why Steyn became the top ranked bowler in the world in tests, and very close to number 1 in ODIs.
