Official ICC 2015 CWC thread

Still not liking the trend of team batting second not getting close to the target...associate nations aside. Tahir turned a couple quite a lot in the second innings (and yes, even accounting for him being a leggie, it was still a lot). Places too much emphasis on the toss.

That's completely beside the point. You had chosen them to win by a pretty big margin in which you then assert dominance to WI over SA.

Obviously you were extremely wrong.
Last time around, I had a huge win for India, someone made a remark, I revised it downwards but still kept India as the favourites because they are better than us in ODIs.

Throughout that match I remained positive for the proteas because India don't have that many bowling options and I genuinely regard them to be an inferior attack to the WI, yet again someone had a problem with that positivity.

Guys chose the opposite and were overwhelmingly wrong. No issue in the end. I pick WI, I'm positive about the WI (&Proteas), they lose in the end, yet a fuss is made of it like I'm negative. Why the fuss? Are the wounds after India that sore, so you're enjoying getting one back? WI could easily have batted first, posted 320 and we get bowled for 200. Heck IRE can just like ZIM be more competitive against us than WI, and PAK go on to beat us. What then?

You're clearly not getting it are you?

YOU CHOSE WI TO WIN !!!

THEY LOST !!!

Accept it. Stop making massive posts with stats and shyte. Admit SA was the better team, you prediction was wrong and move on.

Fark me...

No you're the one who doesn't get it. I posted accordingly long ago.
Just got back. 2-2 for Abbott. Wow!

I'm sensing a 250 run loss here.
If you noticed, guys were just enjoying that Windies were losing badly and baiting me needlessly after that. read the thread. ;)

On way to 215 runs Chris Gayle was dropped 0 times.
On way to 162 runs AB de Villiers was dropped 2 times.

Fortune favours the brave?

Um, how much did he have when he was dropped? Oh, ja, around 138 eh! - damage done and all that

Context, as always, is all important.

Edit: Oh wait, I get your point....umm, actually, I don't.....

what is your point?

AB de Villiers is Man of the Match
"They're quite a few things that played a role. the credit had to go to the guys up front and Rilee's energy inspired me. That affected me and I wanted to play like that and then I started timing the ball and it all came off. Watching the ball is very important., Get to know your own game, play within your weaknesses and strengths and wait to play to your strenghts. I dont see it as a risk. I read the situation, I try to read the bowler and I understand my own momentum and I earn the right to go after the bowlers. I didn't know that, Should have got it at the Wanderers [Fastest 150]. The bounce of the ball went my way, but I'm sure West Indies will bounce back"

Quinton - please make note of the bolded bits. Pretty please!

Gayle wishes he had half the talent that AB has on his little finger. A greedy IPL basher is all he is...

On his way to 3, Gayle was clean bowled once

BTW, totally missing a ball, is not a drop either.

+1

Always pushing his negative and racially biased agenda and spoiling the mood for everyone.

Agreed. As a person often on the case of saffers whinging about their govt, let me just add that I too am sick of his nauseating racially based crap.

Anyway, here are some (unconfirmed) stats they mentioned about AB

Now owns:

Fastest ODI 50
Fastest ODI 100 (last 100 today even faster at 27 balls!!)
Fastest ODI 150
Best strike rate between overs 41 and 50....before the game he trailed Afridi by 163.1 to 163.0 (bear in mind double volume runs)
Best strike rate between overs 46 and 50 at over 225
...and I am not sure how one measures the inventiveness of strokes we saw.

If Maxwell (average 30ish) is supposedly "The Big Show"...what is AB?

AB doesn't need the acclaim...he's a pro. Seems very earnest and self-deprecatory...whenever he speaks he always says something good about someone else in the team that helped them get over the line (regardless of how well he's done personally).

That may not fit in with what some people want (alpha male a-hole types) but that's what we have in him and #...no less heroic than the Warnes of this world and some would say (me included), much more.

No it's an insult to a lot of bowlers to rate Abbott that highly. He's not good. Remember what i said, he's the worst ODI seamer in SA's history since the start of the 21st century!

Neither is good, Parnell is just plain ****.

And if you read my comments properly, you'll see I said that Parnell used to be good, but he isn't now.

But hey, if calling a spade a spade is bad, I don't mind being bad then.

AB De Villiers: 52.93 @ 98.19 strike rate.
Chris Gayle: 37.30 @ 84.82 strike rate.

ALL your arguments are rendered invalid.

Now go bitch and moan somewhere else. Nobody likes you.
