Official ICC 2015 CWC thread

ZCF's biggest problem is that he paints himself into a corner and then doesn't have the good grace to hold up his hand and go, "Yes, you're right - I was wrong." Anytime he's challenged (on his many BS posts), he just spews tomes of more nonsense.

I don't mind the angle he sees the world at (it's refreshing and different) but much like I don't associate with inflexible idiots who may share similar views to me, I'm definitely put off by someone with opposing views who also fails to see other people's point of view. it's more the intractability than the agenda...argue validly all you want but for jeebus's sake, have the common courtesy to admit when you effed up.

Well said.

And nobody said Gayle's innings was ****ter than AB's - the point is we can celebrate both, while we can feel proud of AB's because he's one of us.

The problem is - the elephant in the room, if you will - is that ZFC doesn't like AB, and even Abbott during the other argument, because they're white, but he struggles to offer any substance to his case, because there isn't any.

While I'd say I'd rather have Tsotsobe than either, he'd rather bring out a retired Zondeki out of retirement than have someone who deserves it more at the moment, like Abbott.

I also get bef*k when reading some comments in this thread, but time to make things happier.

SA are now ranked 2nd in our pool.

This weekend, 3 out of the 4 games can go either way which should change things quite a bit.

And our NRR has gotten a massive boost after today, it's now only 0.8 behind India's, who have smacked both teams in their first 2 matches, including us.

Soon to be 1.6 after their weekend game against the UAE.

I cant think of any other player who has got to his century with a six as many times as AB does. He has done it a number of times in ODIs and tests. Not an easy stat to look up though.

NZ-Aus...so awesome to watch a big game when you have nothing personal riding on it. Hoping these two bring their A-games and have a ding-dong battle. Jeez, I love this game.

AB trying to prove that we don't need him?

Rather I think we took the opportunity to see what other options we have like Faf. He had better control than I thought and it makes one think why we dont use him more often. Good speed and length. Yes he went at 5ish an over but there was no pressure as the game was already lost.

Personally I would have given Steyn the ball so he can try and finish it in style with 3 wickets so he can get some confidence and we can get as big a win as possible.

I don't care for his angle on anything.

AB doesn't need the acclaim...he's a pro. Seems very earnest and self-deprecatory...whenever he speaks he always says something good about someone else in the team that helped them get over the line (regardless of how well he's done personally).

That may not fit in with what some people want (alpha male a-hole types) but that's what we have in him and #...no less heroic than the Warnes of this world and some would say (me included), much more.

Noticed that. Said it was Riley that galvanised him to play that innings.

Riley must be chuffed.

Just watched the highlights of the knock by AB. Berhadien faced 5 balls from just before AB got his century. Exceptionally clever of the pair to give so much strike to AB.

Didnt need much strike...last 50 took 12 balls!!
Anyone know why Behardien didn't get a bowl?

He should have bowled, especially if he is going to play again as AB intimated, which he most likely will against Ireland anyway

Rossouw just has to play. Most I have seen of him, and he injects energy with AB with the improvisation and running between wickets

What I said after SA innings....

"They're quite a few things that played a role. the credit had to go to the guys up front and Rilee's energy inspired me. That affected me and I wanted to play like that and then I started timing the ball and it all came off.

...from AB's MoM speech later.
